No Nintendo Direct for North America after all

This is rather odd. Nintendo of Japan is getting a Nintendo Direct with their president. So is Europe. North America, though? Nothing!
However, Nintendo of America will be providing updates on something at 11:30 PM EST. There will be news tonight and through the weekend.
IGN’s Rich George tweeted:
“Nintendo: ‘While there will not be a video specific to North America, we will be revealing info this evening and through the weekend.’ …That is shortened from NOA statement. Because… Twitter. But the gist is – no video but an announcement and some via Nintendo social.”
