Finnish retailer lists several Switch accessories
Posted 7 years ago by Matt in News, Switch | 3 Comments
Finnish retailer Konsolinet has listed several Switch accessories from ORB on their website. ORB have created a couple of accessories for Nintendo hardware in the past, including the Wii and the 3DS. The accessories, like a Game Card holder or a grip for the Switch, don’t really tell us anything new about how the console will work, but it’s nonetheless nice to see that several third party accessories will be readily available.
Konsolinet also lists an official Switch Pro Controller on their website with a March 3rd release date, though that is likely a placeholder.

Over the course of the last year or so, Nintendo’s various European websites got updated continuously, getting new functionality, My Nintendo integration, a new mobile-friendly layout etc. Today they got perhaps their biggest update yet with a new header, and updated sidebar and an all-red color scheme. This is line with Nintendo as a whole moving back to their red-and-white logo and color scheme, instead of the grey-and-white that was used during the Wii and Wii U era.

Nvidia CEO says Switch is “very Nintendo”
Posted 7 years ago by Jake in Switch | 141 Comments
Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang appeared at CES 2017 this weekend, and while the main topics of the keynote were not Nintendo related, he briefly did touch on the Switch when asked if it connected to their AI endeavors:
Nintendo Switch is a game console. It’s very Nintendo. That entire experience is going to be very Nintendo. The beauty of that company, the craft of that company, the philosophy of that company—they’re myopically, singularly focused on making sure that the gaming experience is amazing, surprising, and safe for young people, for children. Their dedication to their craft, that singular dedication, is quite admirable. When you guys all see Switch, I believe people are going to be blown away, quite frankly. It’s really delightful.

Pokemon GO finished 2016 with best week of U.S. revenue since launch
Posted 7 years ago by Brian in Mobile, News | 4 Comments
Pokemon GO received a massive boost in the United States at the end of 2016. With Niantic promoting the game with a pair of events, it experienced its best single day on December 31 in terms of domestic gross revenue since July 18. Players spent roughly $4.9 million on that day, Sensor Tower reports. The week of December 26 was also Pokemon GO’s highest grossing in the U.S. since mid-July at roughly $22.1 million spent.
The end-of-year holiday events in Pokemon GO performed better than the Halloween and Thanksgiving events. It also outperformed the initial introduction of Gen 2 Pokemon in early December.
As we closed out the week that was 2016, Pokemon GO was the highest grossing app in the United States. It beat out Clash of Clans and Clash Royale during that period.
