SEGA making a Shinobi movie

SEGA has decided to go ahead with a movie adaptation of Shinobi, one of the company’s classic franchises. Stories International – SEGA’s film and television production studio – will create the film with producer Marc Platt.

Platt said in a statement today:

“We love the Shinobi games and believe that the world of ninjas has never been properly explored onscreen. We now have the opportunity to do just that. With Shinobi, we hope to make a film that honors the essence of the games and brings this fascinating world to life for moviegoing audiences.”

Many of the Shinobi games have previously launched as Virtual Console titles. The most recent entry, Shinobi 3D, came out for 3DS several years ago.
