That price… This blows USFII out of the water. Damn.

    • IBO

      • Zeebor

        Ok, but why though?

        • Reggie

          Ignore him.

        • IBO

          why not..

    • Justmadeanaccount2

You can get all of these games for 20 something bucks on ps2. 40 is too much.

      • IBO

        ps2 is too old..

      • Aline Piroutek

        PS2 isn’t a hybrid

      • awesomeparadise3

Because everyone still uses their PS2.

        • Jack Red

To be fair, launch PS3s are also compatible with PS2 games.

          • DeltaPeng

            Meh….the PS3’s USED to be compatible with PS2 discs…

But I guess they also used to be premium priced. I wish I could save all my favorite PS games throughout the ages all on one system (it annoys me that PS4 is not backwards compatible, at least digitally). But eh, maybe once they do I’ll get back into PS.

          • Jack Red

Like I said, launch PS3s are BC. I knew that later models ditched PS2 BC. As for why not PS3 BC on PS4, you can thank Sony for it’s cell processor idea.

          • DeltaPeng

I know, I’m just emphasizing the dissatisfaction that all the later iterations of PS3 (past launch) were not backwards compatible

        • Justmadeanaccount2

If you dont want to use it, why would you buy it you dumb f*ck? PS2 sold over 100 Million so people obviously have them.

          • awesomeparadise3

Only a minority is going to go through the effort of hunting down those games and then dusting off their old system that has probably been in the basement for a few years to play. Unless if you’re implying all of those 100 million people still use theirs. Being able to do it more conveniently on something more modern is the reason people don’t use the Commodore 64 anymore. Not to mention your original comment is objectively incorrect. It costs way more than 20$ just to find 2nd Impact on the PS2. You can’t buy a PS2 new anymore either not counting people who bought one and never opened it to sell for a higher price at a later date.

      • SpectralDynamite

No one’s gonna dig through eBay just to find copies of these games on PS2.

        • jimmy

          i have them lol

      • jimmy

Not second impact, sf1, and that genesis one, plus the alphas were missing animation

    • COMPLETELY!!!

    • Radish

So between Street Fighter and Mega Man alone, Capcom is releasing 31 games for the Switch in 2018. And that’s not including the multiple Ace Attorney games it seems we are getting in 2018. And that’s still not including anything else they may have planned (as they’ve hinted at more). Not bad!

  • R.Z.

Sure glad I didn’t buy that SFII thingie back when Switch launched.

    • Justin McQuillen

I bought it and it’s pretty good.

      • IBO

        that sucks

        • Justin McQuillen

Dude I like playing Street Fighter II enough to justify the price. The amount of fun I had playing it already with my friends was priceless.

          • Chaos_Knight

So according to your “logic”, $40 for one game is worth more than $40 for 12 games.

            Okay then.

          • Drybonekoopa85

Or the memories he got from that one game he can consider priceless. You ever consider that? Also what’s it to you how he spends his money?

You should be thanking Justin for picking the game up because if he didn’t Capcom might of written the Switch off for this collection.

Just a little fruit for thought.

          • jimmy

Well that $40 for 1 can be reasonable but that $40 for 12 is a deal so your logic doesn’t pan either

          • Justin McQuillen

When did I say that? I don’t remember this being a debate about numbers and prices, I just am pointing out that the game was good and worth what I paid for it.

          • Chaos_Knight

And $40 for 12 games is still a better deal than $40 for one game.

          • Carlos

When did he say that? According to your “logic” we can just put words in other people’s mouths.

If he thought it was worth it, then it’s worth it to him. Who are you to criticize how he spends his money?

          • Chaos_Knight

So you too have the “logic” into thinking $40 for one game is worth more than $40 for 12 games as well….

          • Carlos

Again, putting words into people’s mouths. When did I ever say that? All I said is that the value of something is subjective. You can tell tell anyone one that they’re idea of value for something is wrong when it’s their opinion.

          • awesomeparadise3

The dude never said it’s better. Just said it was worth it. They didn’t utter a word about the Anniversary Collection.

          • IBO

lol just admit you got played by Capcom

          • IBO

            friends??? what are friends?

      • Roto Prime

me too, now we have the perfect collection!!! Evil Ryu and Violent Ken <3

    • Soda Popinski

At least that version is widescreen HD though….

    • DeltaPeng

I do like those retro graphics of the classics

  • TDude73

The collections are coming on strong for the Switch! First, we have The Bayonetta Collection for 2018-19… and now, we have the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. Holy cow! And I’m deeply impressed that the SF30th is priced reasonably at $39.99 USD. My wallet will never be the same. Thanks to Nintendo, SEGA, Platinum Games, and CAPCOM USA!

    • Dylan W

I can tell from your profile pic that you are probably hyped to the high heavens for Bayonetta 3. I’m very confident that Bayo 3 is going to be one of my favorite Switch games. Bayo 2 was one of the main reasons why I even bought a Wii U in the first place (along with Smash and Mario Kart 8).

    • Ardisan

      Resident Evil revelations collection too

      • TDude73

        And that too. Thanks dude.

        • Ardisan

Oh and also Azure Striker Pack, Namco Museum collection, Mutant Mudds collection, Megaman Legacy Collection 1+2, and Megaman X collection. Wow, never noticed the amount of collections we are getting and already have.

      • Dylan W

I picked that up recently. I never played Revelations 1 and 2 before but I’m enjoying Revelations 1 so far.

    • Mando44646

Too bad Bayo isn’t cared about enough for a retail release :/

  • Man

    SF3 on the go!

  • IBO

…still waiting on a price cut on this game…

    • Dylan W

Hey, if you think about it, 12 games (some of them even include online play) for $40 equates to $3.33 per game. That’s a much better value than Ultra Street Fighter II, which was also $40.

      • IBO

still waiting for a price cut…

        • Kalmaro

          Why? Low on money?

          • IBO

government took my money in taxes…

          • Kalmaro

            Sorry to hear that.

          • Drybonekoopa85

Sucks your going to have to wait while the rest of us will be enjoying the collection. I guess you could always YouTube people and watch them play. That’s always a free option.

          • IBO

            :I

      • DeltaPeng

I agree with IBO, but that’s in part cause I’m not as big a fan of SF. There’s a lot of games, but are all the iterations all that different between the games? To me, I’d probably just pick and play one version of SF2 and SF3.

I dunno, is there a SF enthusiast who can explain in layman’s terms the differences? For SF2 I’d probably just go with the version with the most characters. For SF3, I’d probably go for the one that had that big youtube moment, which has parrys.

  • Dylan W

Yep, definitely taking back USFII (which I thankfully haven’t opened yet) and putting that money towards this instead.

  • Jaxon Holden

I still say Ultra Street Fighter II is the most severely underrated game on the Switch. It’s just excellent.

With the new assets and HD graphics it looks closer to a current generation fighter then it does a past release. so the price was never an issue to me. It looks almost as good as a game like DB Fighter Z or Blazblue, only with far better, timeless gameplay.

I do think $10 less would have helped it to go over a little bit easier but honestly, with GCU I’m getting $40 games for close to $30 anyways so… ya.

    • Dylan W

I don’t know, Super Bomberman R deserves more love in my opinion. Sure, at launch, it wasn’t really worth the $50 they were asking for but over time, Konami has made some major updates to it. The frame rate has been massively improved, new modes, stages, a new level in the story mode, and many new characters (including Simon Belmont, Pyramid Head, and Dracula) have been added. It feels more like a complete package now and it is an absolute blast to play with a lot of people. Plus, I’ve seen it go for as low as $25 now so it is definitely worth picking up now.

      • Ardisan

Yeah I agree, SBR deserves way more love than a Xbox Live $10+ 2 sec port.

        • Dylan W

Are you referring to Bomberman Live: Battlefest for Xbox 360? If so, I completely agree.

      • Princess_Eevee9

Super Bomberman R was worth every penny it cost at launch, yeah they might’ve initially abused the fact it was a launch title but the game still was worth that and more. Free Updates are just Golden.

        • Dylan W

Personally, I agree but it was definitely lacking a hook to separate itself from other Bomberman games at launch aside from the portability. Now, you can do 3 on 3 matches and play as Simon Belmont, Pyramid Head, and Dracula for crying out loud!

    • Justmadeanaccount2

You do realize that isn’t a new game right? It originally came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 under the name “Street Fighter II HD Remix”. Back then the game cost 15 bucks, and today you can get it for $9.99. The Switch version is pretty much the same game and they charged $40. It’s a scam by Capcom…

    • russlxx2

Wrong, you dumb f*****g worthless piece of s***. The suggestion that USFII looks “almost as good” as graphical masterworks like DBZF or any BlazBlue is NOTHING but a load of utter f*****g idiotic and laughably overzealous ignorant bulls***. The game is nothing but a slapdash port of HD Remix from a decade ago and looks just as awkwardly stilted and poorly rendered as it did back then. Anyone who isn’t an ignorant piece of s*** like yourself and who knows anything at all about graphical presentation would easily be able to see USFII’s vast inferiority compared to any modern fighter, especially the two you just mentioned, and the suggestion that it looks at all modern is both ridiculous and entirely untrue.

Beyond that, by today’s standards USFII’s gameplay–while still enjoyable–is in no way shape or form superior to games like BB, the suggestion that it’s far better being almost as laughable as your graphics statement. It’s core fundamentalist mentality is still well intact in these more recent games and is expounded upon and improved upon in countless ways, and any suggestion to the contrary is naught but a festering load of nostalgia-goggles nonsense. Get your head out of your dumb f*****g ignorant-a** and realize the bulls*** you’re saying before you say it.

And Puyo Puyo is infinitely more underrated. permaleaving

    • DeltaPeng

I don’t like SF as much so I think this new package has a lot more value (and I’m more tempted by it), but it’s ok to have differing opinions (hint hint to all the haters)

  • Princess_Eevee9

    D-DID WE PASS THE EVALUATION?!?

    • Dylan W

      Yes we have, my friend!

    • Vive

No DMC HD Collection for us, so not yet.

    • SpectralDynamite

Only Exy can tell us for sure.

  • Roto Prime

    @[email protected]#[email protected]%#=”#:=”!=:!-:;-(HKBDCKDKUHKAHFJGWKUHFOJEBCKJBECOHVKHDV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! vjfbvrbvuebfjenvrgijrvJRHFEFBOJRFLJBRLBFLJBR!!!

    • IBO

are you jacking off again to hard copies of games?

      • Roto Prime

        Prepping me wallet!!!!! x5!!!!!!!

  • Jay Bern

I’d personally prefer it if they just released them all digitally since I only really want 3rd Strike and Alpha 3 (we really don’t need every version of SF2 when we already got the Ultra version earlier this year), but whatever. This is still a pretty good deal.

  • Felipe M.

That’s cool but eh, bought a Switch to play new games not old ones.

    • Aline Piroutek

Everyone does that. Who buys a WiiU to play Megaman 5?

  • Mando44646

It simply makes SFII look like the greedy half added cash grab that it was. Wow

  • Zeebor

Ooo, Rose on cover art? Intriguing. Note that Urien is on the cover, not Gil, the actual villain of SF3, probably because Urien is in SF5. Rose confirmed for SFV Season 4?

    • Bap

Urien and Rose are the characters that helped define their respective series.

  • Snackster1001

Capcom should just remove USF2 from circulation at this point LOL

    • IBO

dumb collector will still buy it…

  • Don Zaloog

This is awesome. Now I have to choose between this and USFII.

    • Bart

I’m a bit different, I was waiting for a price drop on USFII, but this news just makes me want to go pick it up immediately…

  • dathip

cant wait to play 3rd strike online!

  • Soda Popinski

Holy hell. Capcom actually doing a mega collection with 12 games in ONE package RIGHT!!??!?! And only $39.99!?!?! I’d pay $59.99 for a 12 game one disc collection like this!!!

-*- pinch me i must be dreaming *-*

  • DeltaPeng

I’ve never really gotten a chance to play much SF3 before, so that portion interests me. Is that all the iterations then of SF, SF2, and SF3?

    • Radish

Those are all the SF, SF2, and SF3 games to my knowledge. It also includes the 3 Alpha games. However, it does NOT include the 3 Street Fighter EX games, which is interesting considering I’ve read that Capcom may be working on a Street Fighter EX4 game.

      • “I’ve read that Capcom may be working on a Street Fighter EX4 ”

Unless Capcom is collabrating with ARIKA again to canonize (or recanonize) the EX series (in the form of remasters) in the main series leading up to that, I probably doubt this is true.

        • Radish

To be honest I didn’t really look too deeply into it, but I saw that there is an unnamed fighting game that Arika is making for 2018. What that is and whether it even comes to fruition is anyone’s guess.
