Update: Live – Minecraft: Wii U Edition – update #9 incoming

Update: Bumped to the top. The patch is now live. It takes up 40MB of space.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition is getting another update to address issues with the Battle Mini Game. The ninth patch should be released later tonight.
As for what’s involved here, below are the full patch notes:
- Battle Mini Game: Disable kicking players during Public Battle rounds. This is enabled for the host in the Lobby.
- Battle Mini Game: Disable the host exiting the game during a Battle round. This is enabled in the lobby.
- Battle Mini Game: Grace period increased to 20 seconds.
- Battle Mini Game: Changed all Poison Potions to level 2 instead of level 1.
- Battle Mini Game: All Sticks now have at least Sharpness 1.
- Battle Mini Game: Replaced the Fire Charge item with a Potion of Fire Resistance.
- Battle Mini Game: Replaced the Diamond Chestplate with an Iron Chestplate.
- Battle Mini Game: The Wooden Hoe with Fire Aspect 1 has Sharpness 1 added to it.
- Battle Mini Game: Removed the Wooden Shovel from the Centre Chests.
- Battle Mini Game: Added Sharpness 1 to the Wooden Pickaxe in the Outer Chests.
- Battle Mini Game: Added Sharpness 2 to the Wooden Shovel in the Outer Chests.
- Battle Mini Game: Fixed various areas in maps where players could get stuck.

Minecraft’s new Battle Mini Game debuted earlier this week, but not without some issues. Players across all platforms have been experiencing problems, including Wii U owners.
Thankfully, there is some good news to report. A new patch has now started going out, which should fix issues when attempting to join public matches. Be on the lookout for it!

Minecraft: Wii U Edition’s Battle Mini Game is out now. On top of that, a new update has been made available. The full patch notes can be found below.
As a side note, players should be aware of some issues surrounding the new Battle Mini Game – specifically joining public Battle Mini Games. 4J Studios put up a note on Twitter earlier today saying they’re working with Nintendo on the problem.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition maintenance planned for next week

Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be undergoing maintenance as we head into next week. The game’s online services will be impacted for a little under two hours.
Here’s when the maintenance is scheduled for:
– 8:50 PM PT – 10:30 PM PT
– 11:50 PM ET – 1:30 AM ET
– 4:50 AM in the UK – 6:30 AM in the UK
– 5:50 AM in Europe – 7:30 AM in Europe

The previously-announced Battle Mini Game in Minecraft: Wii U Edition now has a release date. Today, it’s confirmed that the content will be available for free on June 21.

European Minecraft: Wii U Edition boxart

Nintendo confirmed yesterday that Minecraft: Wii U Edition will have a physical version in Europe later this month just like North America and Japan. The boxart is now available – see above.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition’s physical version out in Europe on June 30

Just like in North America and Japan, Europe will also be getting Minecraft: Wii U Edition at retail. Nintendo shared a date of June 30 on its Twitter page.
The message reads:
