One criticism that’s tough to lob at the Wii U is to say that it’s lacking in good 2D platformers. From its best such as Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze to the more run-of-the-mill New Super Mario Bros. U, there’s consistently solid base-level mechanics and there’s fun to be had in just running and jumping. Unfortunately, I found even the simple act of controlling the character in Rynn’s Adventure miserable. It’s a reminder of how important it is to get basic movement to feel right in a platformer. When other issues are compounded on this basic failure, then the whole of the design feels anything but compelling.

We’ll be seeing Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest on the North American Wii U eShop this Thursday. To download the game, you’ll need 941MB of free space. It drops down to 899MB once installed.

You may remember Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest, an indie platformer we brought up last April. It was planned for launch in Fall 2015 at the time, but those plans changed as we all now know.
Development on Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest is now complete. At the moment, Arcane Four Studios is working on certification to bring it to Wii U and Xbox One. The 3DS version will follow at a later date.

Arcane Four Studios has its indie game Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest lined up for Nintendo platforms. The game will be hitting both the Wii U and 3DS via the eShop.
Rynn’s Adventure: Trouble in the Enchanted Forest has players taking on the role of a fox. Rynn will need to use her abilities in order to save the King and Queen of the forest after it comes under siege by an army of reptiles. Levels can be tackled in any order, and there will be an emphasis on platforming and magic.
