Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

A listing for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Wii U has been spotted in Target’s database. Don’t take this as a confirmation that Activision is bringing the shooter to Nintendo’s console though, as it could certainly be an error. It’s definitely peculiar that the listing has popped up after Advanced Warfare’s launch!

Update: Treyarch isn’t working on a potential port either.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is not coming to Wii U, Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey has said.

Condrey mentioned on Twitter earlier today:

There is still a small possibility that Advanced Warfare could come to Wii U, as another studio like High Moon Studios or Treyarch would handle the port. But given how we’re already heading towards the end of August, the chances of it happening are certainly dwindling.

For those worried about the state of Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms, it seems Sledgehammer is looking to bring the latest iteration to Wii U, at least according to their E3 listing. The series’ has never done well on Nintendo hardware traditionally but this move shows that it appears to still be a viable move for whatever reason. We will know if this rumor holds true when E3 rolls around.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be released on November 4.

Note: until we receive an official confirmation that Advanced Warfare is Wii U bound, this is probably the last time you’ll see this game mentioned here.
