Digerati Distribution

Digerati is working with Ludomotion to bring Unexplored: Unlocked Edition to Switch, the studio announced today. The game is on track to release this spring.

Unexplored: Unlocked Edition is a roguelite action RPG in which you enter the Dungeon of Doom and go on a quest to steal the Amulet of Yendor from a dragon. On Switch, three peices of DLC will be included.

Slain: Back From Hell has been updated on Switch. Once the patch is applied, you should find that the game runs at 60 frames per second. It was previously 30 FPS, so the experience should be a bit smoother.

Slain: Back From Hell is landing on the Switch eShop next week. Get a look at some footage in the video below.

Some of you may remember Slain, a game we covered on the site a number of times in the past. The game was slated for Wii U. Unfortunately, it was cancelled after Digerati Distribution decided that sales on the system were “just too weak to justify the port”.

Wii U is mostly out of the picture at the point, but Nintendo does have a new console on the market. Digerati Distribution seems to be taking advantage of the opportunity, and Slain: Back From Hell is coming to Switch. A listing on the European eShop reveals the news.

We have the following overview and trailer from the listing:

A recent comment from the developer of Slain: Back from Hell suggested that the game would no longer be on Wii U. Unfortunately, it’s now official.

The game’s official Twitter account provided an update on Twitter, writing that the Wii U version “has been shelved”. It reads:

Perhaps one day Slain could make its way to Switch. For now though, it won’t be on any Nintendo platform sadly.

It was over a year ago when we heard about Slain! coming to Wii U. Unfortunately, it now seems that it’s unlikely for the eShop.

When asked about the status of Slain! on Wii U, the game’s developer said:

“No, we can’t confirm Wii U date, or that it is happening just yet. We were hoping it would but sales on that platform are just too weak to justify the port from what we have seen.”

Slain! was originally featured in an announcement from Nintendo last March about games in development for the Wii U eShop. In fact, the game still has a listing on Nintendo’s North American website.

Slain! is expected to hit Wii U between May and July.

Wolf Brew Games is still hard at work on Slain!, its new tribute to the gory hack and slash games of the ‘80s and ‘90s. The title now has a set date of December 9 on PC, though the console version won’t be coming until next year. On Wii U and other home systems, Slain! will be available in mid-late Q1 2016.
