Irem Collection Volume 2 delayed

Irem Collection Volume 2 is seeing a delay, ININ Games has confirmed.

The package was originally supposed to launch this week – at least digitally. However, it’s now been postponed. In a statement on social media, ININ said it wasn’t satisfied with the state in which Volume 1 was released, and wants to avoid a similar situation this time around. The company did not provide an update on launch timing.

ININ’s full statement about the delay for Irem Collection Volume 2 reads:

Irem Collection Volume 1

Original (4/25): ININ Games, Tozai Games, and Irem today unveiled Irem Collection Volume 1 for Switch and other platforms. A release is planned for 2023.

Irem Collection will consist of five volumes. The first volume contains Image Fight, Image Fight II, and X Multiply.

Here’s some information about each game:

Irem Collection Volume 3

ININ Games, Strictly Limited Games, and Tozai Games today announced Irem Collection Volume 3. Switch will be getting the package in Q2 2024.

Irem Collection Volume 3 includes Mr. Heli, Mystic Riders, and Dragon Breed. The shoot ’em up games will have a quick save and load feature, built-in features, new integrated help functions such as rewind and fast-forward, and worldwide leaderboards.

Irem Collection Volume 2

ININ Games, Irem, and Tozai Games have now announced Irem Collection Volume 2. This follows the previous package that was only just confirmed for Switch back in May – we have the rundown here.

Volume 2 includes arcade classics GunForce, GunForce II, and Air Duel. All of these are notable for different reasons. Gunforce will include both the SNES and arcade versions, GunForce II will have its first official worldwide launch on consoles, and Air Duel is seeing its first official worldwide release. Hototogisu Tairan 1553: Ryuuko Aiutsu has been announced for Switch. It’s game combining both trading card game and strategy elements. Players collect cards to construct their decks and battle over players online. The cards feature artwork from a variety of popular artists. The game will be released in Japan on the eShop in Spring 2018.
