Metanet Software has confirmed that N++ Ultimate Edition will finally be releasing on Switch. The game isn’t too far off, as we’ll be seeing it on May 24.

Find today’s announcement in full below. We have a new Switch trailer attached as well.

About a month ago, N++ fans on Reddit were looking to show their support and interest in getting the game on Switch. One of the threads on the site was hugely popular, prompting Mare Sheppard of Metanet Software to weigh in on things. He certainly left a lengthy response, to say the least.

Sheppard mainly talked about what the team would be dealing with if a port of N++ were to go through. Apparently, Nintendo “said they are focusing on games that will sell systems right now,” so it doesn’t seem as though the big N has offered the green light so far. The port itself would also require a great deal of effort.

The good news is that Metanet feels that “the Switch would be a great place for N++”, especially given fan interest. Let’s hope it happens at some point in the future.

Here’s the full response from Sheppard:

N++ may have a shot at landing on Switch. In a new blog update from developer Metanet Software, the team expressed interest in bringing the game to Nintendo’s new system.

The studio wrote:

While we’re at it, why not a quick update on the future in general? We’re hoping to bring N++ to more platforms, specifically the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. In a perfect world, we’d love to bring it to the PSVita as well.

With the limited resources we have, we’re not going to be able to do everything we would like to, but we’re determined to keep supporting N++ and bringing it to as many players as we can, because — especially with the Ultimate update — this is the best game we’ve ever made, and more people deserve to know about it!

N+ came to the DS back in the day, so it would be fitting to have the new game on a Nintendo platform as well. We’ll keep a lookout for any announcements in the future.
