– The town has experienced an extended drought
– Ever-waning presence of the Harvest Goddess

– Restore the town’s seven Skytrees
– Bring back the Harvest Goddess through a combination of diligent farming, attentive animal husbandry, and item-based courtship
– Engine/style similar to The Lost Valley
– Terraforming your farm returns
– Natsume listened to feedback with the previous game
– Moved away from chibi character models
– Character models are conventionally proportioned
– Uses 3D character models instead of character portraits in dialogue scenes
– Terraforming now significantly faster and easier
– Can now work with more than one cube of earth at a time
– Hold down the ‘A’ button and the selection cursor will grow from one square, to three, to six, to nine, depending on how long you keep it held
– After choosing a size, you can move that selection as you like, and act on all selected tiles at once, either raising the earth or digging them down as a group
– The adjustable selection is also used for all your other tools in Skytree Village
– Tilling, planting, watering, and harvesting all benefit from the efficiency boost
– Expand the selection range as you upgrade your tools
– 2 new views
– There’s the standard 3rd-person free-camera perspective from The Lost Valley
– Also a faux-2D overhead view and a locked-in ‘Farming mode’
– Farming mode: variant of the overhead angle where your farmer will hold her stance and let you strafe along to water, till, or plant in tidy rows
– Press ‘Start’ to cycle through the three views
– At least six bachelors and bachelorettes
– Melanie: red-headed, hot-headed tsundere tailor
– She will turn your fur into fabric
– Jeanne: green-haired, bespectacled herbal doctor who’s brilliant and talented in her trade, but not very confident interacting with farmers of the opposite sex
– Elise: an outgoing blonde chef from out of town who’s written with a French accent
– Dean: buff florist; has a combo of tulip apron and boundless horticultural enthusiasm
– Gabriel: gentle, kindly livestock salesman who’s more at ease with animals than people
– Cyril: ponytailed aristocrat from far off lands who’s visiting Skytree Village as part of his grand tour

Natsume is handling Harvest Moon: Skytree Village in North America. But in Europe, Rising Star Games will be publishing. The company has announced that PAL regions will have the game sometime during Spring 2017.

Rising Star Games was also in charge of 2015’s Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley in Europe. The publisher said it saw success with that title.

Natsume has released the very first Harvest Moon: Skytree Village trailer in celebration of E3 2016. Watch it below.

Update: We now have the official announcement with actual details.

First, an overview:

Times have changed in the land known as the Oasis of the Harvest Goddess. Many people used to live in Skytree Village, and the land was lush and green. However, the power of the Harvest Goddess gradually began to wane, and the land became parched and dry.

It’s up to you revive the seven Skytrees in order to give the Harvest Goddess her power back, and, in turn, bring life back to this desolate land!

Natsume says that Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will include new characters, but with some returning faces. It’ll also offer a new art style, new character models, and more.

When it comes to features, the game will have new crops and flowers, new fishing mechanics, and the option to play as a boy or a girl. Natsume is also packing in “user-friendly tutorials” so that “players will immediately be able to jump into the thick of things, customizing their farm by raising and lowering the land, creating rivers, ponds, and more.” That’s in addition to upgraded tools to “assist farmers in shaping the land more efficiently”.

We’ve posted the official announcement after the break.

Harvest Moon: Skytree Village is in development for 3DS, Natsume announced today. The title will be playable at E3 2016 later this month.

Natsume just shared the news on Twitter with the following message:

We don’t have any additional details at the moment, but we’ll let you know if/when we hear anything else.

Update: Natsume has now sent out an official announcement, confirming River City: Tokyo Rumble will be launching this summer in North America. We’ve also added in a bunch of details below.

Following yesterday’s Twitter tease, Natsume has announced that the company is publishing River City: Tokyo Rumble for 3DS. The game will be playable at E3 2016 in June.

Natsume just wrote on Twitter a few minutes ago:

River City: Tokyo Rumble is the localized version of Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun SP: Rantou Kyousoukyoku. That game came out in Japan back in 2013.

Natsume posted a message on Twitter a short while ago which definitely seems to be teasing something related to River City Ransom. Here’s the tweet in question:

For those that are unaware, enemies say “barf” when you hit them in the River City Ransom games. There have been quite a few entries in the series that have stayed in Japan, so maybe we’ll be seeing a localization announcement soon. The latest title, River City Ransom SP, came out in Japan on April 28.

Natsume launched Super Strike Beach Volleyball on the North American and European 3DS eShop this week. The publisher has since uploaded a trailer, which we’ve posted below.

The fourth portion of Natsume’s winter Q&A with fans was added to the company’s Tumblr page today. Natsume tackled topics about the 3DS (why no Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, series and support for the system in general) and NX (not much to say currently). For the latest three questions and answers, head past the break.
