Super Mario Maker for 3DS has received a brief video showing how the game offers tons of courses to download and play. See it below.

Update (11/8): Nintendo has now removed Super Mario Maker for 3DS’ inclusion as an upcoming compatible amiibo game. Make of that what you will!

Original (11/7): Super Mario Maker for 3DS may feature amiibo support, if Nintendo’s website is anything to go by. It’s listed as an upcoming compatible game on the main amiibo website.

Nintendo previously said that Super Mario Maker for 3DS would not include the Mystery Mushrooms. In the Wii U version, these allowed players to unlock new costumes with amiibo, though they were also available through other means. The Wii U game also made use of the 30th Anniversary Mario amiibo to add a Big Mushroom power-up to courses.

It’s unclear if Nintendo’s website is simply an error. If it’s legitimate, hopefully we’ll hear about how amiibo functions in Super Mario Maker for 3DS soon.

Various retailers in the UK are offering pre-order bonuses for the 3DS version of Super Mario Maker. Nintendo detailed the different goodies on its website today.

As we heard about before, by pre-ordering on the Nintendo UK store, you can receive one of three different freebies. These include a Super Mario Bros. 3D Motion Notebook, Build-A-Level mug, and range of Super Mario Bros. coasters. Additionally, the Question Block Storage Tin and “Breaking Bricks Since ‘85” t-shirt can be had at a discount price.

Bonuses at other retailers are more straightforward. GAME is providing a set of magnets encased in a Super Mario Maker sleeve, Argos has a double sided A3 poster, and Smyths Toys is giving out a set of Super Mario themed pin badges.
