system update

Nintendo Switch

The latest Switch update has done a bit more than improved the system’s stability. Based on new reports from dataminers, a bunch of banned words have been added.

The list includes:

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo just issued a new update for Switch. Today’s firmware is now at version 10.2.0, and includes “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”

Switch’s previous system update released in July. It also featured similar stability improvements.

Version 10.0.0 launched in April and was the last major firmware upgrade. It included new features like button remapping, an option to transfer software data between the system memory and an SD card, and more. Though it’s been a few months, if you happened to miss out on those patch notes, we have them here.

Every now and then, when Nintendo upgrades the Switch firmware, it comes with an update for controllers. That’s what happened with last night’s release of version 10.1.0.

To update your controllers, head on over to system settings. Go down to the “Controllers and Sensors” tab, and then simply select “Update Controllers”. The whole process should be quick and easy.

Nintendo unfortunately doesn’t make it clear what these updates actually do. That being said, you may want to carry it out just to ensure your controllers are in tip-top shape.

Thanks to Bernardo for the tip.

The latest firmware update for Switch is now available. Just a few moments ago, Nintendo started the distribution of version 10.1.0.

Those looking for major additions will be left disappointed. As noted in Nintendo’s patch notes, today’s update simply involves: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”

The last major update for Switch was with version 10.0.0 in April. For that one, a notable addition was the ability to remap controller buttons. The full overview of the update can be found here.

The newest firmware for Nintendo Switch is out now (version 10.0.4). This update fixes an issue which was preventing users in certain regions from registering credit card information on their accounts to purchase things on the eShop.

This is seemingly the only feature of this new update, but feel free to check out the full patch notes below:

Those looking for major features or additions will unfortunately be disappointed. Nintendo says that the update includes “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”

Switch version 10.0.0 dropped in mid-April, which included new features like button remapping and an option to transfer data between the system memory and an SD card. It was then followed up with version 10.0.1’s stability improvements about a week later. Version 10.0.2 launched at the end of April and fixed an issue where a Switch console with version 10.0.0 or 10.0.1 wouldn’t set up a new Switch Pro Controller, sometimes causing incorrect joystick control.

Today’s update includes stability improvements, including a solution for an issue involving the Switch Pro Controller. Below are the full details:

Following last week’s major firmware upgrade, Switch has received another update. The console is now at version 10.0.1 in all regions.

Nintendo mentions in today’s patch notes: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.”

With last week’s update, Nintendo added in several new features. These include the ability to remap controller button configurations, transfer items between the system memory and SD card, and more. We have additional information here.

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has just issued the latest firmware update for Switch. All system owners can get their hands on version 9.2.0.

According to Nintendo, the update includes “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” No other elements are included.

Before today’s update, version 9.1.0 launched in December. That also included general stability improvements, and it also addressed an issue in which the color animation was not displaying correctly when attaching a Joy-Con controller to the console.

Nintendo has issued its latest update for the 3DS family of systems. As of today, all owners can download version 11.13.0-45.

Like previous system upgrades, today’s update isn’t overly significant. However, it’s slightly different from the standard stability patches we’ve seen over the past few years. Nintendo says that version 11.13.0-45 addresses an issue in which StreetPass would not work in some cases.
