A trademark has been discovered in Japan’s trademark database and may indicate Nintendo has plans for DS direction-sensing cards. The official name given to the trademark is “DS Houi Sensor Card”. In Japanese, Houi means direction. Thus, it’s more than possible that this trademark has something to do with direction or motion detecting.

Slide Mag Kid, which was released in 2007, has featured motion technology that seems similar to this latest trademark. The question is, will DS cards become available in the future that have built-in direction and/or motion sensing?
