Upcoming comic book series introducing new character Tangle

The Sonic the Hedgehog comics have been passed over to IDW Publishing, and the company will be introducing a brand new character for the series. We now know that Tangle, a ring-tailed lemur, will be featured.
IDW associate editor David Mariotte had this to say about the new character:
“Before she even had a name, we knew we wanted her to be like a lot of other great Sonic characters and have a special ability tied to one of her features. Think Tails or Knuckles. So, we were brainstorming animals who could do cool stuff and a ring-tailed lemur who could use her tail alternately like a whip or like a fist was too cool to pass up! Throw in her scrappiness, she likes to ‘tangle’ with bad guys, and you have an awesome character!”
It’s unclear if Tangle will be appearing in future Sonic games. Mariotte said that it will be up for SEGA to decide.
The new Sonic comic series begins in April, and one new issue will be released each week. Tangle can be found for the first time on April 25 in Sonic the Hedgehog #4. Beginning in May, the the comic series will be released monthly.
