Koei Tecmo and Gust appear to be developing Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, as a listing for the title just popped up in the Australian classification database. This is the first time we’re hearing about the name or any sort of follow-up to Atelier Sophie. There has been no announcement from Koei Tecmo just yet.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book first released in 2015. It would later appear on a Nintendo platform for the first time when it was made available on Switch earlier this year as part of a DX version.

Koei Tecmo and Gust have been focusing on Atelier Ryza over the past few years, as those games have helped increase the franchise’s overall popularity. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout launched in 2019, followed by Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy in December 2020 (Japan) / January 2021 (North America / Europe).

It’s possible that Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream will be made known by the time Tokyo Game Show starts later this month. Koei Tecmo is bringing an unannounced project to the show, and this would certainly fit the bill. TGS 2021 officially kicks off on September 30 and will run until October 3.
