Trading card games have always been a special breed of addictive insanity, with dedicated fan bases in Magic The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, a plethora of licensed TCGs and most recently Hearthstone. Adding to the list this summer is Fire Emblem 0, a new TCG releasing in Japan on June 25th, 2015.

First thing you notice right away from taking a glance at the starter decks and booster pack above is the incredible art associated with it. What the rules of the game are and how it’ll all work out are still unknown, but the designs of the cards are so pretty that, even if it turns out to be extremely convoluted, there is no shame in collecting these just to marvel at them. Admit it, you used to do it back in the day when the Pokémon TCG initially released.

No word yet on if this will be released outside of Japan, but with the right marketing I think this could end up being something big worldwide. Fire Emblem has always been a niche title, but with Awakening blowing up and the copious amount of news we’ve had lately regarding Fire Emblem If, amiibo and the Shin Megami Tensei crossover, I have no doubt that interest in Fire Emblem is at an all time high right now and could easily be taken to the forefront of Nintendo franchises – in terms of popularity like Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby and more – with the right push.

If these ever got released outside of Japan, would you be interested in delving into the Fire Emblem TCG? Is your wallet ready for it? We’ve all spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a TCG at some point in our lives. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

It seems every two weeks Pokémon Shuffle continues to get bigger and bigger, and we’ve reached yet another milestone today – Pokémon Shuffle has reached over 3 million downloads!

Unlike the other times milestones have been announced, this one is purely informative, so no Jewels, Disruption Delays or anything of the sort this time around, folks. Sorry.

A new event stage has been added for Mega Blastoise in Pokémon Shuffle! This event is similar to the Mega Lucario event that was conducted a few weeks ago, where players could compete to be one of the top in their region for a chance at a Lucarionite that couldn’t be obtained by normal play.

Just like the Mega Lucario event, the Mega Blastoise challenge will last a week long, ending on April 13th, and will reward players a Jewel just for playing once then event is over.

When you go to Check-In, you’ll be required to download the new patch, Version 1.1.8. Once you do that, you can head on over to the Special Stages tab and try aiming for one of the top spots in your region for a Blastoisinite!

European players will compete to be one of the top 10,000, North American players have 20,000 spots to fill, and the top 50,000 in Japan will be given a Blastoisinite.

Good luck, Trainers!

Update: Some translations of what was shared on Twitter:

We got a picture of the Splatoon Amiibos!

First, we’d like to introduce the Girl.

Those characteristic eye markings, her clear hair(?), all of these things and more have been reproduced. She’s cute from every angle… uh, um, as an example, it’s been a great success!

And so this is the Squid amiibo.

The model kinda looks like it could appear out of ink and capture territory in a second, huh?

The squid’s model is great, but the brace (the ink below) is beautiful.

At any rate, I haven’t heard of a lot of squid figurines before…

Nintendo’s ink-filled third-person shooter, Splatoon, launches on May 29th and brings along three amiibo with it on launch day. Announced during the Nintendo Direct on Thursday, Splatoon would be getting its own line of amiibo featuring three figures of the likes of Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and a Squid. You can purchase them individually or as a bundle, but the Squid is currently only available in the bundled package.

Splatoon’s official Twitter just posted a detailed look at the three figures, giving you a 360 degree impression of what the three figures look like from front to back. You can also view individual shots of the amiibo here. Check it out!

UPDATE 3: Greninja is no more. All amiibo officially gone.

UPDATE 2: Greninja is barely holding on. Issues with adding to cart or checking out.

UPDATE: Literally moments after the amiibo went live and this was posted, they’ve all sold out… you monsters.

Those two Fire Emblem characters that were predictably hard to come by today for preorders (imagine when they “release”) are now available at Toys R Us! Hurry over and get your chance to pick up Lucina, Robin, and the Toys R Us exclusive Greninja!

Wave 4 of the Super Smash Bros. line is set to release on May 29th, alongside the brand new Splatoon amiibo and Splatoon.
