A new update is now available for 3DS owners. The firmware has been upgraded from 4.0.0-7 to 4.1.0-8.

The update is a quick and easy installation. At first glance, it doesn’t appear to be too significant. One apparent small change is that a system update can be applied without having to enter a pin if parental controls are enabled.

We’ll let you know if we discover any additional details about the new firmware.

Last week it was believed that Atari would be shutting down Eden Games. The move would help the company recoup from a drop in revenue this past fiscal year.

But as it turns out, Atari has now officially said that it won’t be closing Eden Games, the studio behind Test Driver Unlimited in a few other titles.

Atari said in a statement:

“Our earnings statement contained a report about the divestment of Eden Studios. We want to make it clear that the studio has not closed and that we will continue to support the console and PC games of Eden Studios, notably Test Drive Unlimited 2, while this process is underway.

“The divestment is in line with our previously stated strategy of exploiting our popular intellectual property library on mobile devices, where he have seen strong initial success, and via online games and licensing.”
