SOUNDTRACK TO CULT FAVORITE THIS IS SPINAL TAP COMES TO ROCK BAND

Plus tracks from Black Sabbath and Foo Fighters for Wii and songs from Jane’s Addiction and Styx for Rock Band Unplugged!

Cambridge, Mass. – July 31, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced they will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the theatrical release of This is Spinal Tap, by making available newly recorded versions of the song s featured in the cult classic film and its 1984 soundtrack album. The songs will be available in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content next week on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™ system. With the addition of the Spinal Tap tracks, the Rock Band music platform now offers more than 800 songs to consumers via disc and download, and has surpassed more than 50 million paid downloads to date.

Additional tracks from Black Sabbath and Foo Fighters will be available in the Wii™ Rock Band Music Store, and tracks from Jane’s Addiction and Styx will be available for Rock Band Unplugged.

Today we are pleased to announce that the official site for Ace Attorney INVESTIGATIONS ™ : Miles Edgeworth is up and going at http://ace-attorney.com.

Ace Attorney fans can get the latest info about the game here as well as new screens and artwork.

We had an incredible time at Comic Con 2009. Fans were extremely excited to get their hands on the game. Producer Motohide Eshiro was on location, meeting fans and signing autographs.

Ace Attorney INVESTIGATIONS ™: Miles Edgeworth, will hit the U.S on February 16, 2010 for the Nintendo DS. This time around, the player takes on the role of famed prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, a memorable rival of charismatic legal eagle Phoenix Wright. Edgeworth actively investigates crime scenes in order to pursue the truth behind each case. By solving the challenging puzzles presented to him, Edgeworth will work with the police to bring criminals to justice.

“We think the Wii audience is perfect for the kinds of games we make, orientated towards story and characters and casual play – a sofa expeience if you will – and WiiWare is an amazingly effective way to reach that audience.” – Telltale’s design director

I know that they are two different people, but it is kind of funny how one Telltale developer says that the Wii is less powerful than an iPhone while their design director believes that their games are “perfect” for Wii.

Update: Looks like the title is related to Lord of Vermillion, a card game.

Square Enix seems to have taken a liking to teaser websites over the past few months. Most recently, the company kept Final Fantasy Gaiden: Four Warriors of Light under wraps, but then revealed the mystery a few days after. Today, however, Square Enix brings gamers a new teaser site. There isn’t much to it – There’s a notice that says “VII Days,” but that’s about it. A countdown timer can also be seen (and is apparently part of the VII Days”), which has over eleven days left on it. Perhaps we’ll receive more information once the time expires.
