Rob Maher, the developer behind Rex Rocket, could bring an additional game to the Wii U eShop – or perhaps even the 3DS eShop.

Maher told Nintendo Life that the team has interest in releasing the Zelda-inspired title “Blossom Tales” on one of the two platforms.

Of the game, he said:

“Depending on the success of Rex Rocket, we have big plans to bring a previous title that I had been working on called Blossom Tales, a Zelda-like game that I think stems from my inner kid and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past being one of the unobtainable games of my youth. Set in the world of Blossom, the game follows a young and newly initiated Knight of the Rose, Lily. After King Orchid is double-crossed and cursed to sleep by the Wizard Crocus, it’s up to Lily to find ingredients to concoct a potion that will restore the King. We are hoping to pave the way with Rex Rocket onto Nintendo and follow it up with Blossom Tales — depending on the success of Rex Rocket, we may develop a sequel first. Nintendo is the primary goal for us, 100%.”

Following up on his article published on CVG earlier today, Rob Crossley added on Twitter a short while ago that “there are some really special things lined up for Wii U.” Christmas will be an “interesting” time for the console, Crossley says.

What we’re referring to, of course, is CVG’s report that Mario’s new 3D adventure for Wii U will be available by October. The site also claims that Nintendo is getting ready to promote its console through a big and global marketing campaign.

With the help of developer Silverball Studios, CollegeHumor launched its first video game. The Nintendo Video-based series BearShark received an endless-runner on the 3DS eShop yesterday.

We previously heard that CollegeHumor is interested in pursuing video games further. Now, writer Kevin Corrigan has specifically mentioned Dinosaur Office as one such property that the company has ideas for.

Corrigan told Nintendo World Report:

“Absolutely! We have lot of ideas for other series, including Dinosaur Office.”

CVG has posted a smattering of Wii U rumors today, led by speculation that Mario’s debut 3D outing for the console will be available by October.

The site says that it has had talks “with retail chains at the executive level”. One of its sources claims that Nintendo has been intentionally holding back on some of its games such as Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and Wii Fit U, so that it can come out strong in the second half of 2013. However, a separate source denies this to be the case.

Asda isn’t the only major retailer to have dropped the Wii U’s price in recent days.

Over at Amazon, the outlet has matched Asda’s Wii U Basic Pack price, marking it down to £149. The same price was also detected on Base.com.
