Nintendo has opened a dedicated mobile site which covers the company’s latest products. “Mario.ca” is viewable on smartphones as well as tablets. On the site, viewers can check out new releases, gift ideas, information about Nintendo’s platforms, and more. Simply click on this link from a supported device in order to check out the page.
Huge Nintendo display spotted at Toys”R”Us outlet in Florida

At least in one location, Toys”R”Us is featuring Nintendo in a big way. A display located in Orlando, Florida contains a total of three Wii U stations, tons of signs, floating boxes, and a giant Mario standee. This is all included in two long aisles.

Zelda: A Link Between Worlds poster set sold out on Club Nintendo

Club Nintendo’s Zelda: A Link Between Worlds poster set has sold out in just a matter of days. The reward was added to Nintendo’s rewards site late last week, but all stock has already been snatched up. It’s unclear if the poster set will be restocked in the future.

Dinosaur Planet was originally planned as a Diddy Kong Racing/adventure game hybrid

Rare was originally developing Dinosaur Planet for the N64. However, the project was cancelled, and ultimately saw a complete transformation. The final game ended up as Star Fox Adventures for the GameCube.
Former Rare staffer Phil Tossell spoke about what the studio initially had in store for Dinosaur Planet while speaking with Retro Gamer this month. Tossell revealed that the project “was supposed to be a hybrid of Diddy Kong Racing and an adventure game.”
“Actually, it was supposed to be a hybrid of Diddy Kong Racing and an adventure game. Every level would have some kind of track in it and a race as part of the story. It took a while to settle down…”
One reason why Dinosaur Planet turned into a Star Fox title was because of Shigeru Miyamoto’s feeling that some of the characters between the two were similar in appearance. To say the least, Rare welcomed the opportunity to work on one of Nintendo’s legendary franchises.
“It seemed like a no-brainer. They’re offering this great character from this great franchise! I was attached to Dinosaur Planet but I love the original Star Fox. Our only concerns were how we could fit it into this game we have.”

New Pokemon Center opens in Japan

A new Pokemon Center has opened in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture’s Mitsui Lalaport Shopping Park. “Pokémon Center Tokyo Bay” is the second largest Pokemon store, only beaten in size by the one in Osaka. Consumers can pick up a limited edition shopping bag for the venue’s grand opening.

Reggie is apparently appearing at VGX

During the latest GT.TV, Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime teased some kind of showing from the Big N at VGX. He said, “We may be making an appearance, we may have something special. We’ll see.”
There’s already been plenty of speculation as to what Nintendo has in store. Interestingly, it sounds like Reggie himself will be appearing at the awards show.
Geoff Keighley, who is leading the efforts on VGX, tweeted the following earlier today:
And yes, Reggie did tease his first-ever appearance at VGX in just 2 weeks.
