Torrance, Calif. – XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, today announced a partnership with NAMCO BANDAI Games that will bring Fishing Resort, a new title themed around arcade-style fishing and recreations, to North America exclusively for Wii™. Developed by PROPE in Japan, the studio led by celebrated visionary and creator of Sonic, Yuji Naka, Fishing Resort drops players into a tropical island locale which they can explore as they see fit – this is a vacation after all! The agreement with NAMCO BANDAI Games grants XSEED Games exclusive publishing rights to Fishing Resort in North America when the game ships this fall.

“We appreciate NAMCO BANDAI Games giving us the opportunity to once again work with PROPE and Yuji Naka’s team of visionaries on another original game property that delivers an engaging entertainment experience,” commented Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. “Fishing Resort is an especially interesting title, blending accessibility with more complex game mechanics that players of all abilities can appreciate.”

Capcom is finished with Mega Man Legends 3. And, sadly, they aren’t going to be returning to the franchise anytime soon.

So here’s a random thought: what if another developer resumed development where Capcom left off? While that’s probably never going to happen, CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama actually said that he’d love to work on the series.

Matsuyama said the following when he was asked which series he would like to develop:

“It would be Mega Man Legends 3. I really like the series!”

Matsuyama added that he was disappointed that Capcom cancelled the game.
