It’s been a long wait for Armillo, but the game is almost ready for release. It may only be a couple of weeks away – at least in Europe – based on a new listing on the eShop.

If the Wii U eShop is correct, Armillo will launch in Europe on July 3. One would also think that the North American launch would take place at around the same time.

A Sonic cameo today in the form of a trophy, Sakurai explains:

Here’s Dr. Eggman’s machine, Eggrobo. It’ll appear as a guest character in Smash Run and attack you with laser beams.

Mario Maker

Takashi Tezuka has confirmed that the Mario Maker development team is comprised of staffers from various internal Nintendo groups. The project was originally being made by he Mario course tools team – who came up with the concept – but a new group was formed when Mario Maker turned into an actual game.

We also have news regarding Mario Maker’s director: Yosuke Oshino. Oshino is a relatively young staffer who is directing for the first time. He previously worked on New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Pikmin and Pikmin 2 as a programmer, and acted as programming support on Mario Kart 7.

This month’s NPD report is in, and so are the leaks. “creamsugar”, a member of NeoGAF known for sharing NPD data, has provided a rough breakdown of sales for each platform:

200k > PS4 > 100k > XBO > Wii U > 360 > 50k > PS3 > Wii

It’ll be more interesting to see how Wii U performs next month. Mario Kart 8 launched at the very end of May, meaning it didn’t have an absolutely major impact in last month’s NPD report. June will be much more noteworthy to examine!
