Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is being sold for cheap at Best Buy as part of a “Deal of the Day” sale. The game is currently available for $22.99. Once Tuesday rolls on in, the deal will be gone.

Platinum Games has updated its Wonderful 101 blog with a second post. You can find it here. Today’s post covers the story and a bit of the Wii U game’s battle system.

Asda is no longer stocking consoles, games, and accessories. Pikmin 3, for instance, was not available through the UK retailer. Only eight products – made available for the Wii U launch – are present on the Asda Direct website.

Asda said in a statement:

“Asda continues to offer customers a selection of Wii U games and accessories through Asda Direct, but these ranges are currently not on offer in Asda shops.”

Nintendo has also commented on the situation, but has not explained why the company’s relationship with Asda has seemingly grown sour:

“Nintendo UK does not comment on specific business practices with individual retailers. However, as we have seen with Nintendo 3DS, software sells hardware, and with titles such as Wonderful 101, Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Super Mario 3D World already announced for this year as well as the recently released Pikmin 3 and New Super Luigi U having reached number 2 and number 6 in this week’s chart respectively, we are looking forward to the year ahead on Wii U.”

Harvest Moon appears to be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console this week. According to a listing on the eShop, the SNES game will be out on August 1 – this Thursday. If Harvest Moon does actually hit the Wii U VC, you’ll be able to get it for $7.99.

Licensed games often tend to bomb from a critical standpoint, nor are they system sellers. So it makes quite a bit of sense for Disney to take a step back from this market and instead use the upcoming Disney Infinity title to promote new films.

You may have noticed that new releases such as Monsters University and The Lone Ranger did not receive their own video games. Instead, they’re getting their own Play Sets in Disney Infinity. We’ll likely be seeing similar promotion for future films, according to producer John Day.

Day told MCV:

“They serve as a perfectly adequate replacement for a standalone licensed product. We already use Infinity to support films and even events at the theme parks. That is part of Infinity’s purpose. The value there is really high and I’m prepared to stand behind any of those as excellent games by themselves.”
