Here’s an absolutely random weekend post for you. During her Super Bowl halftime performance a short while ago, singer Katy Perry was seen wearing a Wii Remote strap. I suppose she didn’t want her microphone flying out of her hands!

Well, this is certainly something! A NicoNico user going by the name “Wakou” has used the program Audio Pad to control Mario with sound. That makes him able to play Super Mario World with just his noise and a recorder.

Wakou uses the following commands to control Mario:

“Do” – up
“Mi” – down
“Re” – left
“Fa” – right
“Sol” – b utton
“Ti” – y button

Super Smash Bros. fans have come up with a new mini-game called “Falcon Potato”. It’s done with three players in Special Smash with a higher launch rate and timers-only. Two play as Mario (or Dr. Mario), and another plays as Captain Falcon.

After the match begins, you slow down time with an item, and start a Falcon Punch. The Mario players then use their “Cape” move to redirect the punch until someone gets hit.

Okay, I’m sorry. I just had to post this. It’s part hilarious, part stupid. But here you go! It’s a Marth amiibo… with an extra head. The sheer strangeness of it all is one reason why I’m marking this as a rumor.

If you want this particular amiibo, you’ll need to fork over $1,500. I can’t recommend anyone doing that. That being said, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see it sell!

A Reggie Fils-Aime amiibo won’t be coming out anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean Nintendo can’t make a joke about it! The company’s American subsidiary did just that with a new post on Facebook yesterday. View it below:

The Samus amiibo had some interaction with the Moscow Metro gates, though it wouldn’t actually let you board the transit system for free. Here’s a look at whether some of the amiibo figures work with the Boston subway. The results probably shouldn’t shock you!

Well, how about this! On today’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, one of the couples went all out with a complete Super Mario Bros. performance – down to the music and props on stage!
