Site updates

Remember, folks – the Pokemon Direct will be taking place in a few hours.

Let’s just hope the site stays together until then, since it just experienced an annoying hiccup for a couple of hours. If NE does go down for whatever reason, you can watch the presentation here at 6 AM ET / 3 AM PT. We’ll have a live-stream on the site if all goes well…

Nintendo Everything would like to wish you a happy holiday! Merry Christmas, Happy (late) Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Festivus (especially to the Costanza family), Happy New Year… Happy… everything. Spend some time with your families, enjoy some food, and get as much gaming in as you can over the next week or so.

I’ll be typing away at the computer as usual, scouring the net for any interesting morsels. News may be light as the new year approaches, but we’ll still be around to cover any and all updates.

Quick heads up: we have to do another round of maintenance on NE/GE tomorrow. Some caching stuff still needs to be addressed. Most of you may not notice anything at all while this is taking place, but if anything seems out of whack, be aware that it’s intentional!

We’re just a few hours away from the 2012 VGAs. This won’t necessarily be a huge event in the world of Nintendo, but it’s a big night for games in general and there will be Nintendo-related content at the show.

First and foremost, it’s been confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington DLC will make its deubt. This content will be coming to the Wii U version of the game sometime in the future. There are also several titles on Nintendo systems nominated for awards, so it should be interesting to see how the results pan out. And there’s always the possibility that an unannounced multiplatform game or two could come to a Nintendo system.

You’ll be able to watch the VGA 2012 pre-show here at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST. The awards show itself will debut one hour later and should be viewable on the same page.

We’re about to initiate some long-overdue maintenance on Nintendo/Gaming Everything. It should fix some strange… things some of you may (or may not) have noticed on both sites. We probably won’t be able to fix everything this year, but it’s really about time that we get this done.

Fortunately, most of you won’t see any effects on the sites while maintenance is taking place. But if you do, keep in mind that it’s just standard stuff.

Update: Been meaning to bump this to the front page for awhile. Now that the Wii U is out in Europe, there’s no better time to do so! Also – you can add your Nintendo Network ID (and 3DS Friend Code) to your profile. New members can input this information at registration.

My Nintendo Network ID is ValayNE. What’s yours? I (and others) would love to know!

I’ve set up a handy topic on our forum right here where NE visitors can exchange IDs with each other. Joining is incredibly easy. So why not sign up and add some friends?!

P.S. – I’d be more inclined to add those of you who let me know about their intentions of registering my ID. That way I’ll have a better idea about things. Again, this is where the forum comes in handy! Or send me an email. Or something. Please!

Well well well, just 24 hours until the midnight of November 18th here in Minnesota. Needless to say, I am pretty darn excited! That being said, me and the podcast crew have an awful lot of stuff to get done both before, on, and after that day, so I figured I’d fill you in on our current plans for tomorrow, Sunday, and beyond:

November 17th

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two Review

This review will cover the Wii version of the game, reviewed by Austin.

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion Review

3DS game, reviewed by Laura.

The Wii U Metacritic Score Predictions Game!

Austin will try and guess the arbitrary review score numbers of every Wii U launch title, courtesy of the only-slightly-evil website Metacritic. We’ll check his accuracy next week…

November 18th (Launch Day!)

Here’s a Podcast – Episode 16!

Primarily focused on our impressions of everything Wii U-related, the sixteenth episode of “Here’s a Podcast!” should be recorded and posted by 10PM Sunday night.

8PM EST (6PM PST): Wii U Livestream

Similar to what we did for the Extra Life 24-Hour Gaming marathon, Austin, Jack, Laura, and potentially one or two others will spend a few hours playing various Wii U games, taking questions, talking to you guys, and playing games requested by people.

The Following Week/Weekend

ZombiU Review (Austin)
New Super Mario Bros. U Review (Jack)
Nintendo Land Review (Laura)
Scribblenauts Unlimited Review (Austin)
Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed! Review (Someone)

The Future…

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two Wii U Review (Austin)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Review (Austin or Jack)
Batman: Arkham City ARMORED EDITION YEA Review (Austin)

If you have any questions, requests, or want us to move stuff around, please comment or let us know somehow. We are here to accomodate you as best we can! Thank you!

A quick heads up: we’ve been doing maintenance on Nintendo Everything and Gaming Everything since Thursday. Both sites are still being worked on. If you see anything peculiar (mainly for those who aren’t logged in), don’t worry about it – things should be back to normal soon.

Hi everyone! As I’m sure most of you know, the Wii U comes out in two weeks. Pretty exciting! But what about the Wii? Nintendo may not come out and say it outright, but the unspoken truth of the situation is that the birth of the Wii U is the funeral of the Wii, and what better way to remember the memory of the certainly-historical console than to all share some of our memories about it!?

If you want to help me out with my feature, take the short 8-question survey and tell us about your favorite games, peripherals, channels, and more! If you took the survey via Facebook you can take it again and answer the three new questions if you want. If not, that’s fine too!

Survey here! Thank you guys!
