Site updates

One aspect that I pointed out I wish to improve upon over the next few months/years of the website is to increase the amount of original content that goes up on the site. It’s been awhile since I’ve done 3D images, let alone an article. So that will be changing, starting today. Over the next few weeks, on the weekends, I’ll be posting original content that isn’t news related. It might be an article, it might be a review, or it might be something else. You’ll just have to check back in and see!

Anyway, I’ll have the first non-news post up later today. Please be sure to check out our anniversary post in case you missed it and read up on the new site redesign.

Wanted to save this post after all of the big news of the day was posted. This is a pretty big day for Nintendo Everything, as you can probably guess! Make sure you check out Malinko’s post about a site redesign from yesterday. And before I forget, I’ll have a site update on the weekend….Keep your eyes open for that!

——————–

Okay, that title might have been a bit over-the-top. But yes, Nintendo Everything “officially” turns one today. Even though the site has technically been up for a little more than a year, I consider that, a year ago today, the site really began.

I’ve been mulling over what to write for awhile. It’s difficult for me to gather my thoughts, especially since so much has happened over the past 365 days. I mean, a lot has happened in terms of both the website and in the gaming world. We’ve seen the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and tons of other amazing titles. We went through Nintendo’s disappointing E3 conference, only to be blown away with their October events. Third-party titles such as The Conduit have given us some hope for the future and we went through the announcement of the DSi. And that barely touches the surface!

Hi, NintendoEverything fans!
As of late, Valay and I have been talking about redesigning the website a bit.  When I mean “redesign,” I mean not changing the template, but redesigning some colors, designs, graphics, and logos to make our website look more appealing to match our awesome content.  Right now, we have a standard image as a logo with a clash of so many Nintendo characters which is supposed to represent “everything Nintendo in one,” with plain text over it.  We hope to change the image to be a bit more fun, showing Nintendo in the same exact theme, but maybe a clearer image.  I was thinking flash based, but I figured it’s nicer to have an image for faster loading (for some people).  In addition to this, we will be establishing a new logo and waterproof logo (to add to all our content as an official logo/trademark; FINALLY, right?!).  Also, we have a bit darker colors, such as the charcoal gray and the navy blues on top of it; we probably will go in the direction of making our color sceme similar to a Wii-based design, since the blue really stands out on the off-white and looks nice.  Of course, can’t make it too similar or we wouldn’t be unique from Nintendo (or other websites for that matter)!  So, I’ll make sure there are a few new things to make us look more Nintendo friendly!  I’ll post some screenshots in a few days to throw out ideas so our readers can choose which they like best!  After all, we here at Nintendo Everything value the opinions of readers!  Thanks and I hope to see you all comment on whether you want to keep the current look or give your opinion on some of the new probable design looks!

As Malinko already mentioned, I’ll be gone for a few hours. Until then, he will be doing his best to provide you guys with the latest Nintendo updates. Malinko is new to the whole posting process on the website, so make sure you cut him a bit of slack! When I return, I’ll make sure to post on whatever news is missed. See you folks tomorrow!

Well, that wasn’t fun now, was it? The site totally decided to explode there for a half hour or so. Quite honestly, I’m not too sure why it happened seeing as Nintendo Everything is more than capable of handling capacity traffic.

Anyway, things are okay now, and I don’t see another site issue coming up. Glad to be back!

The people have spoken…And, well, I think it’s pretty clear you guys want to see more screenshots on the site! From here on out, I plan to include screenshots in the daily news updates. However, I’m not going to clog up posts just with screenshots. Basically, I plan to compile a list of screenshots that point to the respective sites where the images are being hosted in one post. That way, every other post won’t simply be about screenshots! The only exception to this will be for the screenshots that are very important. For instance, let’s say there were new screenshots of Zelda. I’m pretty sure that most of you would be very interested in seeing those. So again, only in those types of cases will I make seperate posts.

Let me know if this method works with you guys. If anyone has a different idea/suggestion, make it known! I’ll gladly consider anything that’s thrown out there.

Good evening, readers. Wanted to provide a quick update about my upcoming plans with the site. There haven’t been 3D images in awhile, so I plan on putting another batch out soon. I’m not going to give away the game the pictures focus on, but let’s just say that the game involves Japanese mythology (I hope I didn’t just give it away right there!) I also plan on writing up an article/rambling thoughts post about the same game…I’ve completely fell in love with it. The vs. feature has been dead for a good while too, although I’m hoping to bring it back. If anyone has some ideas for the characters they want to see featured, send me an email through the contact form.

That’s all for now, but as always, if anyone has comments/questions/concerns, I’m always available for contact.

Back in action

It feels verrrrrrry nice to be home right now. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy my vacation, but it’s good to go back to what you’re used to. I have to admit, I missed updating the website. Unfortunately, I noticed that there was only one update from Jackson while I was away…And that was it. I openly apologize for that, since I thought Jackson would be able to do at least a few dozen news posts for sure.

Anyway, like I said, I am back and it’s good to be back. I’ll start posting casually for now but will start posting seriously in the next hour or so. Don’t forget, the NPD numbers are today!

Big news updates

Woah, it’s…Valay?! Yep! I’m here in my hotel and saw that there weren’t too many updates…I apologize for that. I’m hoping Jackson will be able to cover more today, but I was actually able to find Internet access and provide some of the more significant news from the past day or so. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do so again, but I’ll do my best.

Hey folks. Just wanted to give you an update about a fairly important site notice. I’m going to be on vacation today (8/11) and will not be back until 8/14, this Thursday. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be updates. I’ve been “training” Jackson for updates and now he’s ready. Jackson will be providing updates throughout the week until I return. Until then, the forum has been closed as I will not be able to moderate it and I will not be able to respond to emails until I get back as well. I might be able to check up on the site to make sure everything’s alright, but for the most part, I really am taking a vacation!

Have a good week and see you all on Thursday!
