April 2: Square Enix made a huge splash at the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, confirming Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for the new console.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are two parts of the overall reimagining for the PlayStation classic. A third piece to the trilogy is also in the works, but has yet to be shown in any form.

Elden Ring is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 as part of a Tarnished Edition, and today, FromSoftware detailed the new content it has planned.

New armor, weapons, and customization features for Torrent’s appearance were previously teased. During a “FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025” event today, a bit of information was shared regarding specifics.

Accessories maker Genki has provided a statement responding to Nintendo’s recent Switch 2 lawsuit.

Over the weekend, we heard about Nintendo’s initial legal action. The company is going after Genki for the stunt it pulled at CES 2025, bringing a dummy model of the then-unannounced system to CES 2025.

Arcade Archives Ridge Racer Switch 1

May 21: Arcade Archives 2 Ridge Racer was previously announced for Nintendo Switch 2, but it’s now been confirmed that the classic title will be made available on Switch 1. Both versions are planned for June 5, 2025.

On Nintendo Switch, the game will be released as part of the regular Arcade Archives series. The title will cost $16.99 on Nintendo Switch 2 while the Switch 1 version is priced at $14.99.

A couple months back, we wrote a big list of games that would benefit from performance patches on Nintendo Switch 2. That was before we knew exactly how Switch 2 Editions worked, though – and it was also before we knew Switch 2 Editions existed at all. Right now, six first and second-party Nintendo games have Switch 2 Editions: Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon Legends Z-A, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Party Jamboree. These upgrades are all paid, and then several more games are getting free performance patches on Switch 2. Today, we’re going over existing Switch games that aren’t on either of these lists that could really use the performance or resolution boost.

Tamagotchi Plaza physical

We’ve got a bit of news for those looking to secure a physical copy of Tamagotchi Plaza. Over in Japan, Bandai Namco will be putting the game out at retail.

Tamagotchi Plaza will be available in boxed form on both Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. For the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, everything is included on the cartridge – it’s not a game-key card release. Also, both Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 will support English alongside Japanese.

Nintendo Genki Switch 2 lawsuit

It’s now come to light that Nintendo is pursuing legal action against Genki, an accessories maker that gained notoriety before the reveal of Switch 2.

Before the system was officially announced earlier in the year, leaks and rumors were flying in left and right. Genki was one such entity that got in on the action. At CES 2025 a few months ago, the company was showing off a Nintendo Switch 2 dummy replica. Nintendo understandably wasn’t too happy with what transpired.
