Ninjala removing region lock for online multiplayer

Ninjala started out by region locking online multiplayer. That means if you’re in North America, you can’t easily play against someone in Japan.
Fortunately, GungHo has announced that the region lock will be removed this week. Following maintenance that should finish up on early on August 7, you’ll be able to battle against players from regions across the world.

Publisher PQube and developer Abstract Digital today announced that Tormented Souls, a new survival horror game, is in development for Switch. It will launch on Nintendo’s console sometime in 2021.

Arcade Archives Circus Charlie is coming to Switch this week, Hamster has announced. A worldwide release is set for August 6.
Konami made Circus Charlie, which was made in 1984. The side-scrolling action title has players taking on various stages like performing special tricks and avoiding enemies.
Pricing for Arcade Archives Circus Charlie is set at $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29.

Free Style’s asymmetric action game will be made free for Nintendo Switch Online members in Japan next week, Nintendo has announced. The entire experience can be accessed between August 10 and August 16. After the free period ends, all progress can be transferred to the full version.
A special sale price is also planned. Obakeidoro! will be sold for 30 percent off – from 1,980 yen to 1,380 yen – between August 10 and August 23.

Proletariat has opened up about the Switch version of Spellbreak, the upcoming fantasy action battle royale game.
CEO Seth Sivak mentioned to Nintendo World Report that most of the work is being handled internally, though the team is receiving assistance from “several outstanding external companies on different parts of the game”. Although the texture quality and material quality have been “slightly scaled back” and the models are “slightly lower details”, a primary goal has been to preserve “great performance while also making the game as beautiful as possible.”
