Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

The team behind Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has announced that its promised “Roguelike” mode has been scrapped. This had been a part of the original Kickstarter campaign as a stretch goal, but “the code that was created early in the game’s development is not currently compatible with this type of gameplay”.

While that’s unfortunate news for those that were looking forward to it, “Roguelike” will now be replaced with a new “Randomizer” mode. Here are the full details on that:

Nintendo has just issued the latest firmware update for Switch. All system owners can get their hands on version 9.2.0.

According to Nintendo, the update includes “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” No other elements are included.

Before today’s update, version 9.1.0 launched in December. That also included general stability improvements, and it also addressed an issue in which the color animation was not displaying correctly when attaching a Joy-Con controller to the console.

The system has already sold over 50 million units worldwide, surpassing the Wii U, GameCube, N64, and SNES. It’s just a matter of time until other platforms like the NES are overtaken as well.

Bayonetta 3

It seems like PlatinumGames is regularly asked about the status of Bayonetta 3. Each time, the response boils down to the studio saying that things are going well. If you weren’t convinced by the many times this has been relayed by Hideki Kamiya, perhaps the latest comments from executive vice president Atsushi Inaba will put your mind at ease.

At PAX East 2020, Gematsu asked PlatinumGames about Bayonetta 3, and if they can say that there’s nothing to worry about. In response, Inaba said:
