Original: In early excerpts from this week’s Masahiro Sakurai column in Famitsu, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director has shared some new insight on the development of Joker as a playable character, the logistics of his reveal, and briefly addresses online play.

After a string of delays over the past year, developer Area Zero has announced a new January 2019 release window for Touhou Sky Arena in Japan.

The game is set to retail at 3,000 yen. While the new DLC character Toyosatomimi no Miko will release sometime after release in January for the Switch version, the Remilia Futo character add-ons that have already been made available on other versions of the game will be available at launch. On top of new characters, these add-ons also include new stages and music.

In tandem with the announcement, a new trailer has been released for the Switch version. The footage can be viewed below.

Clannad

Clannad is in the works for Switch. That’s according to the latest issue of Famitsu, which shares the initial news. Touch screen and Joy-Con usage will be supported.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will soon be cycling in one of its regular Spirit Board events. Starting on December 28, Nintendo is kicking off a new theme focusing on Mario.

While active, you’ll be able to find more Spirits centered around the Mario franchise. Defeating them will also net you more rewards than usual.

The Mario-focused Spirit Board event in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will last for five days.

In November, Nintendo announced three more characters for Mario Tennis Aces. Luma, Pauline, and Boom Boom are all on the way.

Nintendo has now confirmed that Luma will indeed be the first of these new characters launching with a planned release in January. As usual, those who play in tournaments will have access first followed by general availability the following month.

Inazuma Eleven Ares

Inazuma Eleven Ares has been delayed a few times throughout the year. Level-5 originally hoped to have the game ready this summer, but it’s now looking like it won’t release before May 2019.
