Yesterday, Nintendo and Universal Studios Japan held a special ceremony to announce the official start of construction on Super Nintendo World. 4Gamer shared some comments from Shigeru Miyamoto following the event.

At one point of the interview, Miyamoto touched on possible Switch interactivity at the park. He joked around by saying that he hopes the system will be even more popular in 2020, and thinks it could have a lifespan of longer than five years. According to Miyamoto, they’re thinking of potential interactivity between Switch and Super Nintendo World, and preparations are already in place for that. Nintendo is sharing their know-how from past experiences (like the 3DS at the Louvre Museum) and experimentation with Universal Studios and they are both are planning on how to implement the feature.

Awhile back, a physical version of Axiom Verge was announced. Wii U and other platforms are set to receive the “Multiverse Edition” with a bunch of goodies. We now have confirmation that Axiom Verge is not only coming to Switch, but will also be receiving the same physical release.

– Copy of Axiom Verge on disc/cartridge
– Deluxe booklet with developer’s commentary and art
– Double-sided poster with the world map and weapons/items in the game
– Exclusive making-of documentary
– Soundtrack CD (Available only on Switch, pre-order incentive otherwise)

You can pick up the Aaxiom Verge Multiverse Edition in August. It will cost $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99 on Wii U, but $39.99 / €39.99 on Switch.

Update: Correction – we’ve now received the official announcement from SEGA. As some have thought, the final name is Chemical Plant Zone. Not Chemical Factory Zone.

He has magnificent poses and seems to get instinctively entranced. He can participate in battle through attacks, support, and recovery, and can equip one-handed swords, whips, and daggers.

Spells he can use include:

  • “Oomph” – Raises an ally’s attack power. A spell useful in boss battles and such.

His special skills include:

  • “Hustle Dance” – An lively dance that restores HP to all members of the party.
  • “Miracle Sword” – A one-handed sword skill that can recover HP while dealing damage.
  • “Whip of Love” – A whip skill that deals great damage to multiple enemies.
  • “Viper Fang” – A dagger skill that targets a single enemy and occasionally induces poison.

The Splatoon Twitter account has confirmed that another fan favorite weapon from the first game will return in Splatoon 2 – the Dynamo Roller. However, it now has the Ink Mine sub-weapon and the Sting Ray special.

The Ink Mine has seen a couple of modifications – you can now place two of them at the same time, and if an opponent is hit (but not splatted) by one, they are tagged as if they were hit by a Point Sensor.

Another returning weapon is the Splash-o-matic. Its sub and special weapons have also changed – it has the recently revealed poison mist sub-weapon and the Inkjet special.

It feels commonplace with Nintendo to expect at least one new first-party IP to follow the most recent console launch. Enter ARMS, Nintendo’s latest original game, and their take on a more competitive-styled fighter. Nintendo has had experience with the fighting game genre in the past with the Smash Bros. series, but instead of leaning more towards the party-style that has been the intended main focus Smash Bros., ARMS seems to lend itself to a more competitive one-on-one style of fighting game in the vein of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat while still maintaining the big N’s signature twist on a traditional genre.
