[Let’s Talk] August 2021 Indie World Showcase reactions

This week’s Indie World Showcase was pretty darn packed with new games for Switch. There were brand new titles, ports, and plenty of new experiences to try out that same day.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Eastward, TOEM, Shovel Knight: Pocket Dungeon, Metal Slug Tactics, Tetris Effect: Connected, FAR: Changing Tides, Loop Hero, Hundred Days: Winemaking Simulator, Gang Beasts, Astroneer, and LumbearJack were all featured. Axiom Verge 2, Boyfriend Dungeon, Necrobarista: Final Pour, Islanders, Garden Story, Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition, and Curious Expedition 2 all came out on Wednesday. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield hosting limited time distribution for Wolfe Glick’s Coalossaland

In celebration of the Pokemon Players Cup 25th Anniversary Invitational, a special distribution is being held in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. A code provides access to a competitive-ready Coalossal that helped propel Wolfe Glick to victory during the Players Cup II last December.
Coalossal will come with the moves Heat Wave, Meteor Beam, Protect, and Solar Beam. It’s also holding a Weakness Policy and features the Modest nature.
Follow the steps below to claim this particular Coalossaland in Pokemon Sword/Shield:

BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites launches on Switch in September

BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites has received a release date. The game has now popped up on the eShop, and the store page shows that Ziggurat and WayForward will have it ready to go on September 9.

GameStop reveals top ten Switch game pre-orders over the last two months

In an email sent out to customers this week, GameStop revealed its top ten most pre-ordered Switch games over the past couple of months. Data is based on reservations starting June 8.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer says no current plans for Game Pass on Switch and talks about why

Many gamers are becoming invested in the Xbox ecosystem thanks to Xbox Game Pass. By purchasing a subscription, players gain access to a ton of different titles across various platforms. Some have hoped to see the service migrate to other consoles like Switch, but it doesn’t appear to be in the cards for now.
GamesRadar recently spoke with Xbox boss Phil Spencer and asked him point blank about Xbox Game Pass potentially coming to the console. He ultimately said that there aren’t plans at the moment for any closed platforms “mainly because those closed platforms don’t want something like Game Pass.”
