Wii U

Nintendo’s stock has dropped by 2.68% today following the company’s E3 2012 media briefing. The company has been receiving negative press from its conference, which seemed to lack a truly big and impressive games and lacked new announcements for Wii U.

To compare, Sony’s shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose by 2.14% overnight, and increased by 3.21% in New York.

Ubisoft, perhaps the “winner” of this year’s E3, also jumped by 5%.

There’s certainly a lot new to the Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden III. There are six weapon types and three Ninpo types, one of the criticisms from the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 edition. There’s also better AI and dismemberment.

I’m just wondering if Tecmo Koei has fixed up the major issues, as the the game was slammed hard when it originally came out earlier this year.

Ryu + Wii U = Ninja Awesomeness

The solitary Ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, must find a way to lift the deadly curse on his right arm before it destroys him… NINJA GAIDEN 3 has been reworked to bring to Wii U the truly intense, high-speed challenge and action NINJA GAIDEN fans demand. With more weapon and Ninpo types, a new character progression system, a redesigned battle system and the return of dismemberment, NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge improves upon the original NINJA GAIDEN 3 in every way and
offers Wii U exclusive features and functionalities.

Activision has zero games officially announced for Wii U. That’s sort of mind-blowing.

On the bright side, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg did confirm to Spike TV earlier today that Skylanders Giants is coming to the platform. Other titles weren’t announced beyond this. So we still don’t know if Call of Duty: Black Ops II or any of the company’s other games will be coming to the Wii U in the future.

If you view the video above (skip to 2:30), you can listen to Hirshberg express some excitement over Wii U and dodged some questions about the console’s online functionality.
