Wii

Just Dance is still going strong on Wii. A decade later, Ubisoft is keeping the console alive with the series’ latest entry, Just Dance 2020.

Some might be surprised to hear that Wii is still getting a new game. The logic makes sense though, as Ubisoft told Polygon: “A lot of our players are children and families who continue to play on Wii.”

Ubisoft is also going out of its way to help the community. The company said it has “donated consoles and Just Dance games over the years to children’s hospitals where they use the game with patients to help with movement, exercise, rehabilitation and just for fun, bringing a smile to their faces.”

Believe it or not, Wii is still getting a tiny bit of support. Ubisoft has been pumping out Just Dance games on a yearly basis, and the series continued to appear on the old console.

Ubisoft EMEA executive director Alain Corre spoke about continuing to support the Wii in an interview with The Telegraph. Corre said that the company is “happy” to have the system’s last game “as there still a lot of fans wanting to play on it.”

It’s been ten years of Just Dance, and the series is showing no signs of slowing down. Ubisoft announced the latest entry this week, Just Dance 2020, and the game will be on Switch – along with Wii, unbelievably enough. We have a look at the boxart above.

Just Dance 2020 will be out on November 5. The game can be pre-ordered on Amazon here.

A few Wii games from Nintendo have been released on the NVIDIA Shield in China. System owners can purchase and play New Super Mario Bros. Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Punch-Out!!, and Super Mario Galaxy.

Next up in the pipeline is Donkey Kong Country Returns. That game recently received approval from China’s gaming regulator to launch in the country. While we don’t have an official release date yet, we should be hearing more soon.

Ubisoft will continue its yearly release schedule with a new Just Dance game. Just Dance 2020 will launch for Switch and Wii on November 5, the publisher revealed during its E3 2019 press conference today. There will be no Wii U version this year.

Here’s an overview of Just Dance 2020, along with a trailer:

Mario Kart Wii

Here’s an interesting tidbit stemming from Nintendo’s latest financial results. Between March 2018 and March 2019, Mario Kart Wii sold another 100,000 units. During the same period, Mario Kart 8 on Wii U sold 20,000 copies. That means Mario Kart Wii sold five times as many copies as Mario Kart 8 during the last fiscal year.

Here’s a chart that puts things into perspective:

Mario Kart Wii

New data from UKIE has revealed the full listing of games that have sold over 1 million boxed copies in the UK. Digital isn’t included here, and results were determined based on sales accomplished on an individual platform. Any title that met the mark when combining sales across multiple platforms did not make the cut.

Many Nintendo games from the Wii / DS era made the list. That includes Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros., Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, and more.

Square Enix is back with its latest “Inside Final Fantasy” video series, this time focusing on Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy. In the video below, executive producer Shinji Hashimoto and character designer Toshiyuki Itahana take a look at some of the secrets and anecdotes from the development of the game.

Kirby’s ability to inhale enemies is a staple of the series. In Kirby’s Epic Yarn, however, this isn’t possible. Now that the game has returned on 3DS, producer Etsunobu Ebisu has revisited the subject.

Ebisu told Kotaku the following in a new interview when asked why Kirby’s signature move is missing:
