Bandai Candy Division has revealed a series of Flocky Dolls based on the characters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These items are currently limited to Japan, with pre-orders opening at specific in-store locations.

Seven dolls are planned for the collection, including Tom Nook, Isabelle, Rex, Lolly, Marshal, Dom, and Flurry. Each one comes with a pedestal for display purposes.

Sinnoh in Super Mario Galaxy

Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl have entered the world of Super Mario Galaxy in a rather interesting way. Modder
RiazorMC has ported the Sinnoh map over to the Wii game, complete with the towns and routes the region is known for. Twinleaf Town, the entrance to the Pokemon League, and more are all accounted for. You can even swim in the proper areas.

This is still ultimately Super Mario Galaxy, but with a fixed, top-down perspective like Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. To “complete” the level, you still need to reach the Power Star. In this case though, it’s been swapped out with a Staryu.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Playing games in 2020 has become more popular in ever due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many are choosing to stay indoors, which means entertainment options are a bit more limited than usual. The good news is that, based on a study from Oxford University involving over 3,000 people, “time spent playing games is positively associated with wellbeing.”

The study is based on industry data on actual play time for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. It indicates “that experiences of competence and social connection with others through play may contribute to people’s wellbeing” and “those who derived enjoyment from playing were more likely to report experiencing positive wellbeing.”

Professor Andrew Przybylski, director of research at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, and lead-author of the study, said:

The PlayStation 5 is launching on November 12, and it’s bringing the DualSense along with it. Some fans have already gotten their hands on the controller and have noticed that it can actually work with Switch. You just need an 8Bitdo adapter to make it function.

Nintendo has shared a small but interesting tip about Switch usage on its Japanese customer support Twitter account. Those that have the system are advised to charge it at least once every six months. Assuming you don’t, you may not be able to charge the battery again and it will not work.

We imagine that many of you reading this post use your Switch frequently and need to charge it regularly. If you happen to know someone who doesn’t play as often though, this information may come in handy.

Flipnote Warrior

Earlier this month, we heard about a special creation from YouTuber Mirror Panel-3. In the span of four years, an anime was made with Flipnote Studio 3D known as Flipnote Warrior (Ugomemo Senshi). It will finally release at the end of this year.

The anime itself will no doubt be a visual treat, but viewers will understandably want to watch it in other languages. Thankfully, Distant Sun Animation has stepped in and will produce an English dubbed version – along with English subtitles.

Ring Fit Adventure

Nintendo has announced that TV presenter Laura Whitmore is the ambassador for Ring Fit Adventure. She’s starring in the company’s TV ad campaign, which is airing in the UK as of today.

Laura Whitmore had this to say about Ring Fit Adventure:

YouTuber Mirror Panel-3 has put an incredible amount of work into making Flipnote Warrior, an anime created with the Flipnote Studio 3D application. It tells the story of a young girl’s life that forever changes following an unexpected encounter on a 3DS.

All animation was done within Flipnote Studio 3D. It was then colorized and edited on PC.

Flipnote Warrior won’t be released until December 4, but we do have a trailer. The teaser video can be found below.
