xenoblade complex

We are just a couple of weeks away from the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which feels a little bit surreal considering that the game was announced in February of this year.

As expected, a lot of people are trying to get into the series before the third entry comes out, and some will probably hear about how the series is complex and not always super friendly to beginners. Although it is undeniable that Xenoblade can be complicated sometimes, I get the impression that when the discourse is so focused on the series complexity, there’s a chance that we are scaring some future fans.

Taking that into consideration, I decided to make a video talking about the overall appeal of the series and why fans love it so much despite the complexity. Feel free to check out the video down below.

Epic Donald footage

YouTuber Slope’s Game Room has managed to secure the first footage from Epic Donald, which never came to be.

We first heard about the project in 2016. Disney and Junction Point originally planned to release a third title in the Epic Mickey series featuring Donald Duck, Duckburg, and more. In the end the game was cancelled after Disney Interactive Studios closed in 2016 and Disney itself decided to move away from self-publishing.

xenoblade spoiler discussion

Here we are again talking about Xenoblade Chronicles – this time with something a little bit different. Instead of the usual ten-minute video we usually share on Sunday, this is more of a discussion. I’ve had a desire to talk more in-depth about the franchise because there’s so much to discuss about these complex games.

To help me on this task, our reporter Nicolas joined me in an hour-long Xenoblade discussion where we talk about our experiences with the series, specific plot points and what we expect from the future third game in the franchise. If you are interested, feel free to check it out in the video down below.

To say the least, Metroid: Other M was a different take on the classic franchise. Nintendo handed primary development off to Team Ninja, the team behind Ninja Gaiden. The title also took on a greater story emphasis compared to past entries. Ultimately it earned a mixed reception.

As it turns out, former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime initially had very high hopes for the title. On the latest episode of Kinda Funny Gamescast, he singled out Metroid: Other M as the game that didn’t hit the mass market the way he originally expected.

wii sports pack in

Wii Sports was included as a pack-in with most Wii systems as part of its initial launch. You can thank former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime for that.

It turns out that Reggie made a big push for the pack-in idea, but faced significant pushback. Initially, both Satoru Iwata – Nintendo’s late global CEO – and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto were against it. Both eventually came around, but not without some convincing.

Over a dozen Ubisoft games for Wii U and Wii are seeing their multiplayer and online services come to an end. The lineup includes a bunch of Just Dance and Rabbids titles, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and more.

The full lineup of games impacted by the shutdown is as follows:

Not everyone has the same experience with a game – many elements ring different for each person and the interactive nature of that media makes everything more personal. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a great game, but inside such a highly regarded series sometimes being great is not enough, and that’s why some fans were disappointed with the game.

However, for me it was different. Skyward Sword is actually one of my all-time favorite games, thanks to the circumstances in which I played it and the fact that the game seems to be carefully crafted to appeal to me. In the video below, I share my initial experience with the title and explain why the first hours of it are so great and important to the overall experience.

Okami sequel

In a new interview, Okami director Hideki Kamiya has spoken in-depth about wanting to make a sequel to the cult classic.

Kamiya is with PlatinumGames these days as one of the company’s founders. But even though he left Capcom, there’s strong interest in his part when it comes to working with Okami again.

In a piece published by YouTube channel Cutscenes, Kamiya stated:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on Switch has already managed to outsell the original game on Wii, the latest data from Nintendo confirms.

Through the end of September, Skyward Sword HD sold 3.6 million copies. As for the Wii title, Nintendo had confirmed that it sold 3.52 million units.
