Evo 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus, online event now planned

Evo 2020, the biggest gaming tournament of the year, has been cancelled due to coronavirus. Organizers said in a statement today that tickets will be refunded.
While Evo won’t be happening in its traditional form, plans are in place for an online event. Additional details will follow “soon.”
Here’s the full statement:
Due to COVID-19, we are sadly cancelling Evo 2020 at Mandalay Bay and refunding all purchased tickets.
But to keep the Evo spirit alive, we’re bringing the event online this summer. More information coming soon.
The health and well-being of our community is our highest priority. We hope everyone tays safe during this time.
As of early March, Evo was still set to take place between July 31 and August 1. But the global pandemic doesn’t seem to be clearing up anytime soon, making it impossible to hold an in-person event.
