Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD announced for Switch

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is coming to Switch, Square Enix has revealed. A release date has not yet been shared, but it’s scheduled for release “soon”.
Here’s the official overview from Square Enix:
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD, fans and newcomers alike can follow the journey of crown prince Noctis and his brothers in arms, Prompto, Ignis and Gladiolus, with fully voiced key event scenes and faithfully recreated battles.
All of the treasured moments from Final Fantasy XV, like driving the Regalia across breathtaking landscapes, camping, chocobo riding and more, can be experienced in a whole new way with the game’s creatively reimagined art style and in HD resolution for the Nintendo Switch.

Square Enix’s Hajime Tabata previously said that Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition would have a chance of making it to Switch. While the main Final Fantasy XV looks unlikely at this point, this will be a way for fans to experience the story in a different way on Nintendo’s console. The Pocket Edition first debuted on mobile earlier this year.
