Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition Switch

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is coming to Switch, Rockstar Games has revealed. It will launch later in 2021.

The package of games will include Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Each one “will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements”, though they’ll retain “the classic look and feel of the originals.” Rockstar says it will have more information in the weeks ahead.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was previously rumored following a Kotaku report in August. We’ve seen several leaks since then, including a classification from Korea.

While Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition isn’t a Switch exclusive, it’s a particularly notable release for the platform. Never before have these titles appeared on a Nintendo console. Furthermore, the series as a whole has been largely missing on the Big N’s devices. We have seen some Grand Theft Auto titles on handheld systems going back to the Game Boy Color, though this will be the franchise’s first appearance on a Nintendo system since Chinatown Wars on DS.

We’ll have more coverage on Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and its arrival on Nintendo’s console soon.
