Internal Invasion coming to Wii U

Bear Box Media has confirmed its new indie title for the Wii U eShop, “Internal Invasion”. The 2D physics platformer is currently being made with Construct 2.

Bear Box Media’s Andy Ford provided us with the following overview of Internal Invasion:

Regarding Internal Invasion, it is a 2D physics based platformer where players control a character through an organism with the goal to locate the cause of a virus and put a stop to it. Players do not have full control over the character, however, and must launch him from cannon to cannon, keeping in mind that he can only survive outside of these devices for mere seconds. To assist them, players can collect pills that will give them the ability to steer the character’s path.

To get the best score on each level (of which there are 50) players must not only use the fewest number of cannon launches, but must also beat the game’s ‘par’ time for each level.

“Internal Invasion is designed to be a relatively relaxing game,” Ford adds. “Players don’t have lives, and can take as long as they like to complete levels, but for players looking for more of a challenge, they have the time limit in place to test their speed, and the launch limit to test their skills.”

Originally, Internal Invasion was in the works for mobile devices. However, Ford “started expanding it and changing things here and there as soon as I heard Construct 2 was getting an exporter.” Bear Box Media was among the first developers to join Nintendo for their Web Framework from Construct 2, and expects to be one of the first to release a game for it.

Internal Invasion will be available within the next couple of months on the Wii U eShop. Pricing is set at $4.99 / £2.99.
