Japanese gamers can sample the 3DS in January

– Taking place on January 8/9/10
– At the Makuhari Messe just outside Tokyo (TGS venue)
– More details, which may include a name for the event will be revealed later
– Satoru Iwata shares the news in a special video message, was recorded in the room where the Iwata Asks columns are held
– Iwata once again said that the 3DS would likely face new hurdles, including trying to deliver the message of 3D visuals to consumers
– Demo event a response to the above
– January event the first time ever that the public can play the 3DS anywhere in the world
– No additional large scale events planned at the moment, but other consumers will have an opportunity to sample the 3DS before release
