Kimishima: Nintendo planning more new ways to play with Switch; “new peripheral hardware devices” rumored

Earlier today, Nintendo reported its latest financial results. The news was accompanied by a regular briefing shorty thereafter.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima stated during the event, “Aside from Labo, we’ve also prepared other ways of expanding ways to play on the Nintendo Switch.” Unfortunately, he didn’t expand further on this.
Takashi Mochizuki, who reported on that nugget of information, published a new article on The Wall Street Journal. Interestingly, the publication claims that “new peripheral hardware devices for the Switch are planned”.

To keep the momentum going, Mr. Kimishima said the company wanted to appeal to a wider ranger of customers, including children, their parents and hard-core gamers. In January, the company announced “Nintendo Labo”, a do-it-yourself kit that includes cardboard attachments to the Switch console such as a piano keyboard. Mr Kimishima said more is on the way.
People familiar with the development plans said new peripheral hardware devices for the Switch are planned, without elaborating.
