Let’s Talk #34: Impressions of Xenoblade Chronicles X
Xenoblade Chronicles X has been out in the west for almost a month now. For those that have been playing it, what do you think of the game thus far? Are you enjoying it? Has it not met your expectations? If you’ve played the original Xenoblade, how do you think this one stacks up? Let us know in the comments below.
I’ve actually had Xenoblade Chronicles X since launch, but haven’t had a chance to really play it yet. Sickness, business, and a terrible backlog make for a bad combination. I hope to change that soon though!

What do I want to see or what do I expect to see? Because they are two different things.
I’d love to see them just go nuts with the “game character” notion and give me Master Chief and Crash Bandicoot. Both have served as mascots for Nintendo’s console competitors, and it’d be a lot of fun to have the very best characters gaming has to offer, Nintendo-related or not. But I can’t see Master Chief being included, though there is another Microsoft-owned character I fully expect to see (and it’s not Banjo).
Banjo could be great, for sure, but he’d still be advertising for a franchise with just about no chance of appearing on a Nintendo console ever again, even the older games. Also, as much nostalgia appeal as Banjo has, I don’t see him doing either Microsoft or Nintendo a whole lot of good for advertising/marketing purposes.
I expect Steve from Minecraft to be in. Steve is owned by Microsoft, but he’s coming to Wii U in Minecraft and Minecraft: Story Mode. Minecraft is a hugely popular game, and his inclusion in Smash could, I think, boost sales a bit for both Minecraft Wii U and Smash, benefitting both Microsoft and Nintendo. He could also have a pretty interesting move set, incorporating the fun pixelated weapons and crafting in some way.
All in all, I expect we’ll see three characters available after the Smash Direct (including Cloud), with the promise of 3 ballot-related characters sometime next year.

I’m expecting to see maybe Young Link (Majora’s Mask version) and the Inklings because they are Nintendo IPs and as far as 3rd party goes I think we will see Shovel Knight and Bayonetta but I’m hoping to see
