Yesterday, French site Game Blog posted a short snippet from an interview they conducted with Shigeru Miyamoto, which confirmed that Nintendo is trying their best to release Mario 3DS this year. The full interview has now been posted on the site, and the folks on NeoGAF were kind enough to translate the important bits. Miyamoto shared some very interesting information (including a comment on Project Cafe), so I recommend you check out the details below.

– Miyamoto says he’s working on a new Zelda, a new Mario, Mario Kart 3DS, and a new Pikmin
– Nintendo making new AR Games for the 3DS
– Miyamoto didn’t say if these new AR Games will be retail releases or downloadable
– Miyamoto reconfirmed that Nintendo intends to celebrate Zelda’s 25th anniversary just like they did for Mario
– Many products/merchandising for Zelda’s anniversary (unclear if this means games or CD/books)
– Miyamoto on Project Cafe rumors: Nintendo always working on new hardware and “where there’s smoke there’s fire”, but “you shouldn’t believe everything you read [on the internet]”.
– Miyamoto considering entrusting the younger teams with traditional characters such as Mario and Zelda, so he can get more time to work for himself
