Nintendo confirms the existence of and details the Skyward Sword game-breaking bug

As much as I try to avoid spoilers it looks like I’m stuck seeing at least this one, eh? Many people have reported in saying that they experienced a game-breaking bug when attempting a certain quest in Skyward Sword, and now Nintendo has confirmed the existence of such a bug, in addition to detailing the exact order of operations you must complete in order to have it break your game. Details on such a monstrosity after the break!

– Occurs during the “Song of the Hero” quest

– The quest requires you to visit the three main locations again in any order, and the Lanayru Desert portion must be completed first for the bug to activate.

– You also have to talk to Golo the Goron before getting the song of the Thunder Dragon, and then talk to him again afterwards. This activates the bug, which prevents the other two locations from being visited anymore.

– If you save the game after completing these events, you either must start the game over, or use an earlier save file.

I feel pretty bad for anyone who has fallen into this catastrophe, because Skyward Sword is a pretty long game. Starting over would take many, many hours… Hopefully none of you out there have suffered a similar fate!
