3DS

– February 22 in Japan
– 25,000 yen in Japan
– About $300 when converted
– Same as the Wii launch price in Japan
– Could argue that it’s new tech
– It’d 3D without glasses in your hands, so it’s worth it
– What’s coming with it matters too
– Will come with an SD card
– Store games on the SD card
– Can transfer DSiWare games
– The 3DS display is something you can’t get anywhere else
– Kids aren’t going to care that if it’s $100 more than the usual handheld
– Game lineup for the 3DS is amazing
– A lot of games seem to be launch titles/coming out around launch
– Peer worried we’ll see a lot of games like Super Mario 64 DS
– 3DS can multitask
– Press home while playing a game and go to an application like the Internet browser
– Moniters how much you’re carried your DS, how much you’ve played games
– Nintendo really haven’t talked about online gaming much
– Peer doesn’t think Nintendo gets the online culture yet so isn’t expecting too much in that area

– People were excited about WiiConnect24, but it was barely used
– WiiConnect24 actually caused issues when starting up games; sometimes had to wait up to a minute due to WiiConnect24

– A lot of the features sound Japan-oriented
– Street Fighter has statue battles
– Resident Evil looks fantastic

– Professor Layton trailer had nice animation
– Cradle that was shown may be the standard way of charging

– Mega Man Legends 3 was announced at Nintendo’s conference
– Nintendo had been planning on launching the 3DS this year, but they wouldn’t have enough product
– Coming out in March in NA/Europe

– Virtual Console for 3DS Was announced at Nintendo’s conference
– Game Boy/Game Boy Color games
– Super Mario Land and Link’s Awakening DX were shown
– GBA games will probably happen eventually
– Baby steps first
– 3D-make NES games were confirmed shown, had been shown at E3

Metroid: Other M

– Nintendo offerring Metroid: Other M bug fix
– Need to send in your save data to Nintendo
– Takes a week to fix
