Black Forest Games says that its implementation of off-TV play in Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, in which sound is not emitted from the GamePad, is not a bug. The studio is working on a patch, however.

Responding to a fan on Facebook, Black Forest acknowledged the issue. It’s a “problem” that the studio intends to fix “as soon as possible”.

Black Forest’s message in full states:

The missing sound is not a bug, it is a known behavior which does not violate the technical guidelines of the WiiU.

We love all our fans and are working on getting a patch for the sound problem. Nintendo does not demand that the sound is there on release and by such we released it to keep our release deadline. We agreed that we wanted to keep our deadline and then work towards fixing the sound as soon as possible, atm we have a lot of things going on in the company but the WiiU sound is in the works and hopefully we will have a patch to fix it within a reasonable timeframe, it is our first release on a consol like the WiiU so the work is a bit different than what we are used to. All in all we are working on the problem and ask for your patience while we get used to the console market/patching as well as fixing this issue.

Nintendo is working on a patch for Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It’s coming soon to the Japanese 3DS eShop, though I’m sure any issues with the overseas release will be looked into as well.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist has already been patched on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with PC updates coming in the future. Thankfully, Ubisoft isn’t leaving Wii U out of the picture.

On Twitter, the official Splinter Cell account tweeted that Wii U is also being looked at for patches. It reads:

GameStop is now taking pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD GameStop Exclusive Limited Edition. You can place an order here.

There is one small yet strange detail to point out. GameStop is charging $60 for pre-orders, but Nintendo mentioned in its announcement a few days ago that the limited edition will cost $55. I wonder what the discrepancy is about…

Mighty Switch Force! 2 will be hitting Wii U in October, according to WayForward. The company’s Matt Bozon just confirmed the date on Twitter through the following message:

Mighty Switch Force! 2 was first outed for Wii U thanks to a PEGI listing. Nintendo Everything received official confirmation of its existence a few weeks ago.

Update: No details after all, but WayForward’s blog officially confirms that the Kickstarter will launch next Wednesday.

WayForward, developer of the Shantae and Mighty Switch Force! games, is teasing a “major” Kickstarter campaign which will be going live next week.

It’s currently unclear what the studio has planned, but a countdown on WayForward’s website indicates that the crowdfunding effort will launch in a little less than five days. Details will apparently be shared later today.

A whopping 342 exhibitors are attending the Tokyo Game Show next month, the CESA announced today. That’s a new record for the expo.

209 exhibitors showed up for TGS in 2012. This year’s lineup is made up of 189 Japanese companies and another 153 from western representatives.
