Two new Virtual Console games are on track for the Japanese Wii U eShop next week. The two Famicom games Metroid and Kid Icarus will be out on August 14. Pricing is set at 500 yen.

Japan gets Hulu 3DS

The Hulu application is now available for the 3DS. Well, we should specify that it’s only available in Japan at the moment. I’m sure a release in North America will follow, but we’ll have to sit tight for now!

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire may be coming out on the North American Wii U eShop this week. A listing on Nintendo’s website lists the title for release on the Wii U VC this Thursday. If it does come out, you’ll be able to download the SNES classic for $7.99.

mach_storm

We’ve come across a new European trademark just filed by Namco Bandai yesterday. The company now owns “Mach Storm” – a name that is associated with Zoids, but that’s about it.

It should be noted that Mach Storm’s filing suggests some sort of relation to video games. There hasn’t been a new Zoids title in quite some time (plus it’d be bizarre to name something based on a Zoids battle team), so if this is something that is actually in development, it’s likely a brand new project and unrelated to the brand. Unless I’m missing something here…
