SEGA has filed a lawsuit against Level-5 for its Inazuma Eleven soccer games. Specifically, SEGA isn’t pleased with games’ functionality in which players can move character with their finger or touch pen.

It’s possible that the company’s Football Manager franchise has come in to play. SEGA may feel that Level-5’s series is in conflict with its own soccer management simulations. Officially though, SEGA hasn’t confirmed that this is the case.

Kotaku reports that opening arguments were heard on December 7. SEGA is looking for ¥900 million (US$11 mil) in damages, and is looking for the sale of all eight Inazuma Eleven games to be stopped.

Speaking about the lawsuit, Level-5 said:

“We are preparing our rebuttal and do not have any comments to make at this time.”

Well, this stinks! We did another great podcast (that’s two weeks in a row… knock on wood!), but unfortunately our hosting service for “Here’s a Podcast!” is down until late tomorrow night. I’ve uploaded the episode to our old hosting service so you can download the raw MP3 if you’re particularly eager to give it a listen or to have it for listening on your way to places or to put it on while you sleep so you can absorb all the Nintendo goodness, but there’s no embed or subscription capabilities.

Proper post coming tomorrow. For now, here’s a podcast… for you!

I had completely forgot about this video! The bit was recorded during the extremely short Nintendo Direct a few days back. Here it is now:

Street Fighter X Mega Man is just the start of Capcom’s plans for the Blue Bomber’s 25th anniversary.

News will begin to arrive on December 17. That’s a pretty good date for announcements, given how the series will have made its debut 25 years ago on that very day.

The first round of news will only apply to “the start of the celebrations”. More news will be shared next year.

According to Capcom’s Christian Svensson:

“I don’t know that there’s more substantial for me to talk about but there’s a TON more things we have in the works, only some of which will be shared on December 17th. There’s a whole year of things that will happen… you’re only going to hear about what’s happening fairly close to the start of the celebrations at first.”

Square Enix is introducing holiday elements for Dragon Quest X, just in time for the holiday season.

Players can visit partake in the “When You Wish Upon a Star! The Great Festival On A Holy Night”, which contains a large Christmas tree. There are also monsters to fight that give Ornaments of Light. The tree will continue to light up further as users defeat more monsters and earn addition ornaments. Christmas-themed goods will also be sold in the in-game stores.
